Tel Aviv University (TAU) is Israel's largest public comprehensive university, located in Tel Aviv-Yafo, the country's economic and technological hub. Established in 1956 through the merger of Tel Aviv School of Law and Economics, the Natural Sciences Institute, and the Jewish Studies Center, TAU was founded to address the demand for higher education in the densely populated Tel Aviv region.
