天津警察学院是经教育部批准设立的公办普通本科学校，前身为1949年创建的天津市公安学校，历经多次合并与发展，于2025年6月正式升格为本科院校。学校由天津市人民政府举办，市委政法委领导，市公安局主管，是天津唯一一所公安院校，被誉为“培育天津公安民警的摇篮”。

Tianjin Police College is a public ordinary undergraduate school approved by the Ministry of Education. Its predecessor was Tianjin Public Security School founded in 1949. After several mergers and developments, it was officially upgraded to an undergraduate institution in June 2025. Sponsored by the Tianjin Municipal People's Government, led by the Municipal Political and Legal Committee, and administered by the Municipal Public Security Bureau, it is the only public security college in Tianjin and is known as "the cradle of cultivating Tianjin public security police officers".

学校以公安相关领域人才培养为核心，首批设置治安学、侦查学、警务指挥与战术、网络安全与执法4个本科专业，全日制在校生规模暂定为5000人。作为纳入公安机关人民警察招录培养制度改革范围的院校，公安专业学生毕业时可参加面向公安院校公安专业毕业生的招警统一考试。

The college focuses on talent cultivation in public security-related fields, with 4 undergraduate majors initially offered: Public Security Studies, Investigation Studies, Police Command and Tactics, and Cybersecurity and Law Enforcement. The full-time student enrollment is tentatively set at 5,000. As an institution included in the reform of the recruitment and training system for people's police in public security organs, graduates of public security majors can participate in the unified recruitment examination for public security organs targeting graduates of public security majors from public security colleges upon graduation.
