广东科学技术职业学院是广东省人民政府1985年批准设立、教育部备案的全日制公办普通高等学院，正厅级建制。建校初期名为广东省科技干部进修学院，主要承担科技管理干部培训任务，被科技部誉为“地方继续教育的一颗明珠”。1989年更名为广东省科技干部学院，1996年成为广东省首批普通高职教育院校，2003年改制为普通高等学院并保留科技干部培训职能，2007年划转广东省教育厅管理。学校是国家示范性（骨干）高职院校、国家优质专科高等职业院校、中国特色高水平高职学校和专业建设计划建设单位，获黄炎培职业教育奖优秀学校奖。

Guangdong Polytechnic of Science and Technology is a full-time public higher vocational college approved by the People's Government of Guangdong Province in 1985 and registered with the Ministry of Education, with a department-level administrative system. Initially named Guangdong Institute for Advanced Study of Scientific and Technological Cadres, it mainly undertakes training tasks for scientific and technological management cadres and was praised by the Ministry of Science and Technology as "a pearl of local continuing education". Renamed Guangdong Institute of Scientific and Technological Cadres in 1989, it became one of the first institutions offering regular higher vocational education in Guangdong in 1996. It was restructured into a regular higher vocational college in 2003 while retaining its cadre training function, and was transferred to the administration of Guangdong Provincial Department of Education in 2007. The college is a National Demonstrative (Backbone) Higher Vocational College, National High-quality Vocational College, and a construction unit of China's Featured High-level Vocational Schools and Professional Groups, and has won the Excellent School Award of Huang Yanpei Vocational Education Award.

学校现有珠海、广州两个校区，全日制在校生26000余人，设17个二级学院及2个科研机构，开设57个招生专业。拥有中国特色高水平高职专业群1个、国家骨干高职院校重点专业5个、央财支持专业2个，省级高水平专业群7个。教学资源丰富，包括国家级精品课程5门、国家级在线精品课程6门，国家级教学成果奖多项。师资力量雄厚，拥有国家级教学名师、全国技术能手等国家级优秀教师5人，省级大师名匠61人。办学条件优良，校园面积2012亩，教学科研仪器设备值3.09亿元，建有459个校内实验实训室和175个校外实习基地，与630余家企业建立合作关系，共建21个产业学院。

The college has two campuses in Zhuhai and Guangzhou, with over 26,000 full-time students. It has 17 secondary colleges and 2 research institutions, offering 57 enrollment majors. It boasts 1 China's Featured High-level Vocational Professional Group, 5 key majors of National Backbone Higher Vocational Colleges, 2 majors supported by the central finance, and 7 provincial high-level professional groups. Rich in teaching resources, it has 5 national excellent courses, 6 national online excellent courses, and multiple national teaching achievement awards. The faculty is strong, with 5 national-level outstanding teachers including national teaching masters and national technical experts, and 61 provincial-level masters and craftsmen. With excellent school-running conditions, it covers an area of 2012 mu, with teaching and research equipment worth 309 million yuan. It has 459 on-campus laboratories and training rooms, 175 off-campus internship bases, and has established cooperation with over 630 enterprises, jointly building 21 industry colleges.
