湖北轻工职业技术学院是经湖北省人民政府批准、教育部备案的全日制公办普通高等职业院校，前身为1956年创办的湖北省轻工业学校，2001年合并组建为高职学院。学校是教育部第三批现代学徒制试点院校、全国首批1+X证书试点院校，也是全国啤酒检测中心及啤酒酿造专业人才培养基地，隶属湖北省教育厅管理。

Hubei Light Industry Technology Institute is a full-time public higher vocational college approved by the Hubei Provincial People's Government and registered with the Ministry of Education. Its predecessor was Hubei Provincial Light Industry School founded in 1956, and it was merged into a higher vocational college in 2001. The college is a pilot institution of the third batch of modern apprenticeship system of the Ministry of Education, one of the first batch of 1+X certificate pilot institutions in China, and also a national beer testing center and a talent training base for beer brewing majors, under the management of Hubei Provincial Department of Education.

学校坐落于武汉武昌核心区域，占地165亩，校舍建筑面积11万余平方米，教学仪器设备总值8000多万元，图书馆藏书40.8万册。设有7个教学院系，开设30余个专科专业，涵盖机械、食品、生物、建筑、电子信息等领域，其中国家级教改试点专业1个、中央财政支持实训基地2个，啤酒酿造、数控技术等专业形成鲜明特色。现有教职工398人，“双师型”教师占比达45%，在校生6000余人，毕业生就业率连续多年位居全省高职院校前列。

Located in the core area of Wuchang, Wuhan, the college covers an area of 165 mu, with a total building area of over 110,000 square meters, teaching equipment worth more than 80 million yuan, and a library collection of 408,000 books. It has 7 teaching departments, offering more than 30 specialized majors covering machinery, food, biology, architecture, electronic information and other fields, including 1 national-level teaching reform pilot major and 2 central financial support training bases. Majors such as beer brewing and numerical control technology have formed distinct characteristics. There are 398 faculty members, with "double-qualified" teachers accounting for 45%, and more than 6,000 students. The employment rate of graduates has ranked among the top in Hubei's higher vocational colleges for many years.

学校坚持“特色鲜明、质量优良”的办学理念，1987年引入德国“双元制”职业教育模式，相关教学成果获2018年国家教学成果二等奖。近年来先后荣获“省级文明单位”“省级平安校园”等称号，牵头组建湖北酒业职业教育集团，与200多家企业开展产学研合作，为轻工业培养了16万余名技术技能人才，成为湖北省职业教育对外合作的窗口院校。

Adhering to the school-running philosophy of "distinctive characteristics and excellent quality", the college introduced the German "dual system" vocational education model in 1987, and its related teaching achievements won the second prize of National Teaching Achievements in 2018. In recent years, it has successively won titles such as "Provincial Civilized Unit" and "Provincial Safe Campus". It has taken the lead in establishing Hubei Wine Industry Vocational Education Group and carried out industry-university-research cooperation with more than 200 enterprises, cultivating more than 160,000 technical and skilled talents for the light industry, and has become a window institution for vocational education cooperation in Hubei Province.
