Huanggang Polytechnic College is a public full-time higher vocational college approved by the Ministry of Education in 1999. It is a National Civilized Unit, a "Double High Plan" Class A high-level professional group construction school, a National High-quality Vocational College, an Excellent National backbone Vocational College, an Excellent College in the talent training level evaluation of higher vocational colleges by the Ministry of Education, one of the first batch of national modern apprenticeship pilot higher vocational colleges, the winner of the 6th Huang Yanpei Vocational Education Excellence Award, and a Charming Campus of National Vocational Colleges. It is also a National "May Fourth Red Flag Youth League Committee" unit, one of the Top 50 National Higher Vocational Colleges in Service Contribution, and a case unit of the Top 50 National Vocational Colleges in Teaching Management. In addition, it is a National Vocational Education "Double-qualified" Teacher Training Base and an Advanced Demonstration Unit for Employment Work in National Higher Vocational Colleges. Founded in 1949, the college is located in Huanggang City, Hubei Province, a world-famous hometown of education. It has two campuses, Huangzhou and Wuxue, covering an area of more than 1,600 mu and a building area of 590,000 square meters. The campus is lush with trees, fragrant with grass and flowers, and has been rated as a garden-style campus by the province and city.

专业特色突出，学校落实国家重大战略，主动对接区域产业发展需求，建设了10个专业群，建成国家级A档高水平专业群1个，省级高水平专业群2个，现有专业49个，其中国家级重点骨干专业12个等。教学工作出彩，形成“一主线双驱动三递进四融合”的人才培养模式和“理实一体，教学做合一”的教学模式，学生参加各级各类技能竞赛成绩优异，在湖北省举办的10届高职院校技能大赛中6次荣获总分第一名。文化育人出色，形成“一核引领四元融合”校园文化育人模式，涌现出“中国好人”余康颖等先进典型，文化育人成果多次荣获省级和国家级奖项。科研成果丰硕，是湖北省自然科学基金依托单位，建设多个省级技术创新中心等平台，教师参与研发的项目获湖北省科技进步一等奖。

The college has distinctive professional characteristics.
