Lanzhou University of Information Science and Technology (formerly the Technical Engineering College of Lanzhou University of Technology) is a full-time ordinary undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education. It is one of the first pilot universities for transforming into application-oriented universities in Gansu Province. It has been awarded the Excellent School Award of the Second Huang Yanpei Vocational Education in Gansu Province, ranking 19th in the 2025校友会 China University Type I,蝉联全省同类院校第一, and was rated as a 5-star China First-class Application-oriented University. The campus covers an area of 1026 mu and has more than 17,400 full-time students.
