山西工学院是经教育部批准，于2021年成立的一所省属公办全日制理工类普通本科高等院校。学校坐落于山西省西北部，雁门关外、桑干河畔的国家历史文化名城，右玉精神的发祥地——朔州。自建校以来，学校始终坚持应用型高校办学定位，恪守“笃行求真，日新致远”的校训，以立德树人为根本任务，构建以学生为中心的人才培养体系，培养厚基础、强实践、勇创新且具有较强学习力、思辨力和行动力的高素质应用型人才。

Shanxi College of Technology is a public full-time ordinary undergraduate institution of higher learning approved by the Ministry of Education in 2021. Located in Shuozhou, a national historical and cultural city and the birthplace of the Youyu Spirit, in the northwest of Shanxi Province, outside the Yanmen Pass and by the Sanggan River. Since its establishment, the university has always adhered to the orientation of an application-oriented university, abided by the school motto of "Pursuing Truth through Practice, Striving for Progress Daily", taken moral education as its fundamental task, and built a student-centered talent training system to cultivate high-quality application-oriented talents with solid foundations, strong practical abilities, courage to innovate, and strong learning, critical thinking, and action capabilities.

学校秉持“服务山西、面向全国、做好朔州的事情”的办学理念，坚持“高校+产业研究院+龙头企业/行业”的特色发展模式，聚焦朔州市煤、电、瓷等核心支柱产业，布局学科专业、构建二级学院。现有能源工程学院、电力工程学院、材料工程学院、陶瓷学院、智能制造工程学院、信息工程学院等12个二级教学单位，以工为主，涵盖理、工、经、管、艺5个学科门类，开设42个本科专业。校园规划占地面积1277.49亩，全日制本科生规模12000人，面向全国31个省（市、区）招生。

Adhering to the school-running philosophy of "Serving Shanxi, Facing the Whole Country, and Doing Well in Shuozhou", the university adheres to the characteristic development model of "University + Industrial Research Institute + Leading Enterprise/Industry", focusing on the core pillar industries such as coal, electricity, and ceramics in Shuozhou City to layout disciplines and majors and establish secondary colleges. Currently, it has 12 secondary teaching units including the School of Energy Engineering, School of Electric Power Engineering, School of Materials Engineering, School of Ceramics, School of Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering, and School of Information Engineering. With engineering as the main focus, it covers 5 disciplines including science, engineering, economics, management, and art, offering 42 undergraduate majors. The campus is planned to cover an area of 1277.49 mu, with a full-time undergraduate enrollment of 12,000 students, recruiting students from 31 provinces (municipalities and autonomous regions) across the country.
