The University of Calabria (UNICAL) was founded in 1972 as a comprehensive public university in the Calabria region of southern Italy, located in the town of Rende, Province of Cosenza. As one of Italy's largest university campuses (spanning 200 hectares), its iconic campus features a 2,500-meter "bridge-style complex" with teaching buildings, laboratories, and administrative facilities lined along both sides, showcasing a unique and modern design.

学校下设工程、理科、经济、文学、政治科学等5大学院及14个系，涵盖从本科到博士的完整教育体系，现有约35,000名学生、800余名教学研究人员及700名行政人员。其优势学科包括工程学、计算机科学、经济学等，注重国际化培养，与全球多所高校建立合作，并提供英语授课硕士项目（如人工智能与计算机科学、环境与国土安全工程等）。

The university comprises 5 faculties (Engineering, Science, Economics, Humanities, and Political Science) and 14 departments, offering a complete education system from undergraduate to doctoral levels. It currently has approximately 35,000 students, over 800 teaching and research staff, and 700 administrative personnel. Its strengths lie in engineering, computer science, economics, and other fields, with a focus on internationalization through partnerships with global universities and English-taught master's programs (e.g., Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science, Environmental and Territorial Safety Engineering).
