武汉电力职业技术学院是国家公办全日制高职院校，由国网湖北省电力有限公司主办。学校始建于1953年，历经武汉电力专科学校、湖北电力学院筹建等发展阶段，2002年升格为现名，2012年依托学校组建国网湖北省电力公司技术培训中心，实行“两块牌子一套班子”管理模式。

Wuhan Electric Power Technical College is a public full-time higher vocational college sponsored by State Grid Hubei Electric Power Co., Ltd. Founded in 1953, the college has undergone development stages such as Wuhan Electric Power Junior College and the preparation of Hubei Electric Power College. It was upgraded to its current name in 2002, and in 2012, the Technical Training Center of State Grid Hubei Electric Power Company was established based on the college, implementing a "two brands, one team" management model.

学校坚持“根植行业、教培一体、创新发展、特色鲜明”的办学理念，是国家“双高计划”建设单位、湖北省高水平高职院校。现有武昌、汉口两个校区，占地16.28万平方米，建有25个实训基地和105个实训室，其中国家电网公司实训基地4个、省级重点实训基地4个。开设发电厂及电力系统、供用电技术等11个专业，其中国家高水平专业群1个、国家骨干专业3个，毕业生就业率连续13年超97%，在电力行业就业占比超60%。

Adhering to the school-running philosophy of "rooted in the industry, integrated education and training, innovative development, and distinctive characteristics", the college is a national "Double High-Level Plan" construction unit and a high-level vocational college in Hubei Province. It has two campuses in Wuchang and Hankou, covering an area of 162,800 square meters, with 25 training bases and 105 training rooms, including 4 training bases of State Grid Corporation and 4 provincial key training bases. It offers 11 majors such as Power Plant and Power System, and Power Supply and Utilization Technology, including 1 national high-level professional group and 3 national key majors. The employment rate of graduates has exceeded 97% for 13 consecutive years, with over 60% employed in the power industry.
