武汉铁路职业技术学院创建于1956年，2001年经湖北省人民政府批准组建高职学院，2004年由铁道部移交湖北省人民政府管理。学校是国家“双高计划”建设单位、国家示范性高等职业院校、全国优质高等职业院校，形成了“铁的理想信念、铁的纪律作风、铁的意志品质、铁的担当作为”的“铁院精神”，走出了“跟着铁路转，联合铁路办，帮助铁路干，乘势谋发展”的特色发展之路。

Wuhan Railway Vocational College of Technology was founded in 1956. It was approved by the People's Government of Hubei Province to establish a higher vocational college in 2001 and was transferred from the Ministry of Railways to the management of the People's Government of Hubei Province in 2004. The school is a national "Double High-Level Plan" construction unit, a national model higher vocational college, and a national high-quality higher vocational college. 学校现有全日制高职在校生15000余人，教职员工1200余人，设有8个二级学院，开设专业52个，组建十大专业群，覆盖轨道交通工程建设、装备制造、运营维护整个产业链。毕业生就业率长期保持在96%以上，先后培养出全国劳动模范、全国道德模范等一大批优秀人才，被誉为“铁路行业的黄埔军校”。

The school currently has more than 15,000 full-time vocational college students and more than 1,200 faculty members. It has 8 secondary colleges, offers 52 majors, and has established ten major groups covering the entire industrial chain of rail transit engineering construction, equipment manufacturing, and operation and maintenance. The employment rate of graduates has remained above 96% for a long time. It has cultivated a large number of outstanding talents such as national model workers and national moral models, and is known as the "Whampoa Military Academy of the railway industry".

学校积极参与国际交流与合作，与英国、泰国等国家的院校建立合作关系，率先为“一带一路”沿线国家培养高铁专业人才，在泰国成立全球首家高铁鲁班学院，荣获世界职教院校联盟卓越奖，成为世界了解中国高等职业教育的窗口。

The school actively participates in international exchanges and cooperation, has established cooperative relations with institutions in the United Kingdom, Thailand and other countries, and took the lead in training high-speed rail professionals for countries along the "Belt and Road". It established the world's first High-Speed Rail Luban College in Thailand and won the Excellence Award of the World Federation of Vocational Education Institutions, becoming a window for the world to understand China's higher vocational education.
