艾因·夏姆斯大学（Ain Shams University）成立于1950年，是埃及第三大综合性公立大学，也是中东地区著名高等学府之一。其前身为易卜拉欣帕夏大学，1954年正式更名为“艾因·夏姆斯”，阿拉伯语意为“太阳之眼”，象征与古埃及赫利奥波利斯（O'N）历史文化的深厚联结。该校主校区位于开罗阿巴西亚地区，下设15个学院及多个研究机构，涵盖艺术、法律、科学、工程、医学、药学等广泛学科领域，现有学生规模超过15000人。

Ain Shams University, founded in 1950, is Egypt's third-largest comprehensive public university and one of the prestigious higher education institutions in the Middle East. Formerly known as Ibrahim Pasha University, it was officially renamed "Ain Shams" in 1954, which means "Eye of the Sun" in Arabic, symbolizing its profound connection with the historical culture of ancient Egyptian Heliopolis (O'N). With its main campus located in the Abbasia district of Cairo, the university comprises 15 faculties and multiple research institutions, covering a wide range of disciplines including Arts, Law, Science, Engineering, Medicine, and Pharmacy, with a student enrollment exceeding 15,000.

As the largest higher education base for Chinese language teaching in the Middle East and Africa, the Chinese Department of Ain Shams University has trained over 800 Egyptian Chinese language talents over the years, serving as a crucial bridge for cultural and educational exchanges between China and Egypt. The university actively promotes international cooperation, establishing academic partnerships with world-renowned institutions such as the University of Birmingham, Imperial College London, and Monash University. Its alumni network includes prominent figures like former Egyptian Prime Minister Abd El Aziz Muhammad Hegazi.
