长沙环境保护职业技术学院创办于1979年，前身为国家环境保护总局长沙环境保护学校，2002年升格为公办全日制普通高校，是我国第一所环保类国家公办全日制高等职业院校，由生态环境部与湖南省人民政府共建。学校坐落于湖南省会长沙，秉承“物我同舟、天人共泰”校训，以培养高素质技能型环保一线人才为宗旨，被誉为“中华环境卫士的摇篮”。

Changsha Environmental Protection College was founded in 1979, formerly known as Changsha Environmental Protection School of the State Environmental Protection Administration. It was upgraded to a public full-time ordinary college in 2002, being the first national public full-time higher vocational college specializing in environmental protection in China. Co-built by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and the People's Government of Hunan Province, the college is located in Changsha, the capital of Hunan Province. Adhering to the school motto "Unity of All Beings, Harmony between Nature and Humanity", it aims to cultivate high-quality skilled environmental protection talents and is known as "the Cradle of Chinese Environmental Guardians".

学校占地面积550多亩，建筑面积16.4万余平方米，开设环境监测技术、环境工程技术、生态环境大数据技术等30余个专业，覆盖环境保护行业主要职业岗位。现有教职工550余人，其中副高级以上专业技术职务180余人，省级专业带头人7人，省级教学团队2个。在校学生近8000人，毕业生就业率连续多年保持在95%以上，用人单位满意率达95%以上。

Covering an area of over 550 mu (about 366,667 square meters) with a building area of more than 164,000 square meters, the college offers over 30 majors such as Environmental Monitoring Technology, Environmental Engineering Technology, and Ecological Environment Big Data Technology, covering major professional positions in the environmental protection industry. It has more than 550 faculty members, including over 180 with associate senior titles or above, 7 provincial-level professional leaders, and 2 provincial-level teaching teams. There are nearly 8,000 students on campus, with the employment rate of graduates remaining above 95% for many years and the satisfaction rate of employers reaching over 95%.

学校是国家级专业技术人员继续教育基地、生态环境部干部培训中心，先后荣获湖南省文明高等学校、湖南省示范性高职学院等荣誉称号，在2006年教育部人才培养工作水平评估中被认定为优秀等级。建校以来，已为社会培养输送4万余名环保专业人才，成为基层环保系统的骨干力量。

As a national continuing education base for professional and technical personnel and a training center for cadres of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the college has successively won honorary titles such as Hunan Civilized College and Hunan Demonstrative Higher Vocational College. It was rated as excellent in the 2006 talent training level evaluation by the Ministry of Education. Since its establishment, it has cultivated and transported more than 40,000 environmental protection professionals for the society, becoming the backbone of the grass-roots environmental protection system.
