大连航运职业技术学院于2008年经辽宁省人民政府批准成立，是以培养水上运输类、船舶与海洋工程装备类高素质技术技能人才为主的民办理工类高等职业院校。学校位于辽宁省大连市旅顺经济开发区，依山傍海，风景秀丽，占地面积545亩，下设航海学院、船舶学院、电气学院、管理学院等教学单位，形成了以航海类专业群为主体，船舶类、机电类专业群为两翼，现代航运服务类专业群协调发展的特色办学格局。

Dalian Shipping College was established in 2008 with the approval of the Liaoning Provincial People's Government. It is a private higher vocational college focusing on cultivating high-quality technical talents in water transportation, ship and marine engineering equipment. Located in Lvshun Economic Development Zone, Dalian City, Liaoning Province, the college covers an area of 545 mu with beautiful scenery near mountains and sea. It has established teaching units including Navigation College, Ship College, Electrical College and Management College, forming a distinctive educational pattern with navigation-related majors as the main body, ship and electromechanical majors as two wings, and modern shipping service majors developing coordinately.

学校紧密围绕国家海洋强国、航运强国战略，拥有完备的航海类专业办学资质，经交通运输部海事局核准开展15项海船船员培训项目，是东北地区唯一同时具备无限航区三副、三管轮、电子电气员等适任培训资格的院校。实训设施先进，船舶操纵、轮机管理等模拟训练系统处于国内领先水平，现有全日制在校生5000余人，秉持“爱国济世、德技双馨”校训，为航运事业发展培养了大批高素质技术技能人才。

Closely following the national strategies of building a maritime power and shipping power, the college has complete qualifications for navigation-related majors. Approved by the Maritime Safety Administration of the Ministry of Transport, it offers 15 training programs for seafarers, being the only institution in Northeast China qualified to provide competency training for unlimited navigation area third officers, third engineers and electro-technical officers. Equipped with advanced training facilities, its simulation training systems for ship handling and marine engineering management are leading domestically. With over 5,000 full-time students, the college upholds the motto of "Patriotism for Serving the World, Virtue and Skills for Excellence", cultivating numerous high-quality technical talents for the development of shipping industry.
