福州大学是国家“双一流”建设高校、国家“211工程”重点建设大学、福建省人民政府与教育部共建高校。学校创建于1958年，现已发展成为一所以工为主、理工结合，理、工、经、管、文、法、艺等多学科协调发展的重点大学，在人才培养、科学研究、社会服务等方面形成了鲜明特色和优势。

Fuzhou University is a national "Double First-Class" construction university, a key university under the national "211 Project", and a university jointly built by the People's Government of Fujian Province and the Ministry of Education. Founded in 1958, the university has developed into a key university with engineering as the main focus, integrating science and engineering, and coordinated development of multiple disciplines such as science, engineering, economics, management, literature, law, and art. It has formed distinctive characteristics and advantages in talent cultivation, scientific research, and social services.

学校拥有福州旗山、怡山、铜盘和厦门集美、鼓浪屿以及泉州泉港等多个校区，总面积达7000余亩。现有全日制普通本科在校生3.8万余人，各类研究生1.5万余人。学校师资力量雄厚，现有教职工3200余人，其中专任教师2100余人，拥有两院院士、国家杰出青年科学基金获得者等国家级高层次人才100余人次。

The university has multiple campuses including Qishan, Yishan, Tongpan in Fuzhou, Jimei, Gulangyu in Xiamen, and Quangang in Quanzhou, with a total area of over 7,000 mu. Currently, there are more than 38,000 full-time undergraduate students and over 15,000 graduate students of various types. The university has a strong faculty, with more than 3,200 faculty members, including over 2,100 full-time teachers, and more than 100 person-times of national-level high-level talents such as academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering, and winners of the National Outstanding Youth Science Fund.
