广东水利电力职业技术学院是一所行业特色鲜明的省属公办全日制高等职业院校，隶属于广东省教育厅，前身为创建于1952年的广州土木水利工程学校，1999年升格为高等职业院校。学校是国家“双高计划”建设单位、国家骨干高职院校、全国优质水利高职院校、全国水利职业教育示范院校，也是广东省一流高职院校、广东省示范性高等职业院校，荣获第四届全国文明单位称号。

Guangdong Polytechnic of Water Resources and Electric Engineering is a public full-time higher vocational college with distinct industry characteristics, affiliated to the Department of Education of Guangdong Province. Its predecessor was Guangzhou Civil Engineering and Water Conservancy School founded in 1952, and it was upgraded to a higher vocational college in 1999. The college is a construction unit of the national "Double High-Level Plan", a national backbone higher vocational college, a national high-quality water conservancy vocational college, a national water conservancy vocational education demonstration college, as well as a first-class higher vocational college and a demonstration higher vocational college in Guangdong Province, and has been awarded the title of the Fourth National Civilized Unit.

学校坚持以习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想为指导，贯彻党的教育方针，秉承“厚德、笃学、慎思、弘技”校训精神，始终坚持“以人为本、尚德惟新、求真务实、特色发展”的办学理念，以“立足水利、服务社会”为办学定位，走内涵式发展、特色发展之路，着力培养高素质技术技能人才。学校现有从化、天河两个校区，总占地面积1100亩，面向全国19个省（市、区）招生，全日制在校生10938人，近年来毕业生就业率均保持在99%以上。

Guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the college implements the Party's educational policy and upholds the school motto of "Virtue, Diligence, Deliberation, and Skills". It始终 adheres to the school-running philosophy of "People-oriented, Advocating Virtue and Innovation, Seeking Truth and Being Pragmatic, and Developing with Characteristics", with the school-running orientation of "Based on Water Conservancy and Serving the Society". It takes the path of connotative and characteristic development, striving to cultivate high-quality technical and skilled talents. The college has two campuses in Conghua and Tianhe, covering a total area of 1100 mu. It enrolls students from 19 provinces (municipalities and autonomous regions) across the country, with 10,938 full-time students, and the employment rate of graduates has remained above 99% in recent years.
