硅湖职业技术学院是一所经江苏省人民政府批准、教育部备案的全日制普通高校，是江苏省创办最早的民办高职院校之一，苏州市第一所民办高校，也是昆山历史上第一所高等院校。学院创建于1998年，坐落于江苏省昆山市花桥国际商务城绿地大道168号，校园占地面积739亩，以培养具备实践技能和创新能力的应用型人才为核心使命，紧密对接地方产业发展需求，形成了以工科为主，涵盖管理、服务等多学科协调发展的专业体系。

Silhu Vocational and Technical College is a full-time ordinary college approved by the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government and registered with the Ministry of Education. It is one of the earliest private higher vocational colleges established in Jiangsu Province, the first private university in Suzhou City, and the first institution of higher learning in Kunshan's history. Founded in 1998, the college is located at No. 168 Lvdi Avenue, Huaqiao International Business City, Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province, covering an area of 739 mu. With the core mission of cultivating applied talents with practical skills and innovative abilities, it closely meets the needs of local industrial development and has formed a discipline system dominated by engineering and coordinated development of management, service and other disciplines.
