黑龙江艺术职业学院是黑龙江省唯一一所公办全日制综合性艺术职业学院，其前身是1959年建校的黑龙江省戏曲学校，1972年更名为黑龙江省艺术学校，2002年9月经省政府批准，与黑龙江省文化干部学校合并组建为现校名。学院办学层次以高职教育为主、中职教育为辅、成人培训为补充，主校区位于哈尔滨市南岗区和兴路149号，分校区位于南岗区中兴街21号，总占地面积近10万平方米，建筑面积10.2万平方米。

Heilongjiang Vocational Academy of Art is the only public full-time comprehensive art vocational college in Heilongjiang Province. Its predecessor was Heilongjiang Provincial Opera School founded in 1959, renamed Heilongjiang Provincial Art School in 1972, and merged with Heilongjiang Provincial Cultural Cadre School to form the current name with the approval of the provincial government in September 2002. The college focuses on higher vocational education, supplemented by secondary vocational education and adult training. The main campus is located at No. 149, Hexing Road, Nangang District, Harbin, and the branch campus is located at No. 21, Zhongxing Street, Nangang District, with a total area of nearly 100,000 square meters and a building area of 102,000 square meters.

学院设有9个教学系（部），开设27个高职专业（28个方向），其中影视表演、舞蹈表演专业为省级重点建设专业，音乐表演和舞台艺术设计专业为中央财政支持重点建设专业，舞蹈表演专业入选黑龙江省第二轮高水平专业群建设项目。建校六十多年来，培养了包括作家张抗抗、表演艺术家白淑贤、歌唱家刘和刚、影视演员张国强等在内的大批艺术人才，被誉为“黑龙江艺术人才的摇篮”。

The college has 9 teaching departments, offering 27 higher vocational majors (28 directions). Among them, film and television performance, dance performance are provincial key construction majors, music performance and stage art design are key construction majors supported by the central finance, and dance performance has been selected into the second round of high-level professional group construction projects in Heilongjiang Province. Over the past 60 years since its establishment, it has cultivated a large number of artistic talents including writer Zhang Kangkang, performing artist Bai Shuxian, singer Liu Hegang, film and television actor Zhang Guoqiang, etc., and is known as "the cradle of Heilongjiang artistic talents".
