泰州学院是一所公办本科层次的省属普通高校，坐落于江苏省泰州市区。其前身可追溯至1941年创建的泰兴师范和1952年创建的泰州师范，2000年两校合并组建泰州师范高等专科学校，2002年泰州广播电视大学并入，2013年4月经教育部批准升格为泰州学院，实现了泰州市公办本科高校零的突破。学校以培养本科层次高等学历人才、服务地方经济社会发展为宗旨，业务范围涵盖本科学历教育、科学研究、继续教育、专业培训、学术交流及社会服务等。

Taizhou University is a public undergraduate-level provincial ordinary university located in Taizhou City, Jiangsu Province. Its predecessor can be traced back to Taixing Normal School founded in 1941 and Taizhou Normal School founded in 1952. In 2000, the two schools merged to form Taizhou Teachers College, and in 2002, Taizhou Radio and Television University was merged into it. In April 2013, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, it was upgraded to Taizhou University, achieving a zero breakthrough in public undergraduate colleges and universities in Taizhou City. The university aims to cultivate undergraduate-level higher education talents and serve local economic and social development, with business scope covering undergraduate education, scientific research, continuing education, professional training, academic exchanges, and social services.

学校设有11个院系，涵盖文学、理学、教育学、管理学、工学、法学、艺术学等多个学科门类，共40个本、专科专业。拥有一支结构合理、素质优良的师资队伍，现有专任教师498人，其中高级职称231人（正高级47人），具有硕士及以上学位364人（博士89人）。学校注重学科建设与科研创新，拥有3个“十三五”省级重点建设学科，1个省高校品牌专业建设工程项目，1个省级基础课实验教学示范中心，2个国家教育部、财政部重点支持建设专业，3个省级特色专业，并获得10项专利、253项软件著作权。

The university has 11 departments, covering multiple disciplines such as literature, science, education, management, engineering, law, and art, with a total of 40 undergraduate and junior college majors. It has a well-structured and high-quality teaching staff, with 498 full-time teachers, including 231 with senior titles (47 with professor titles) and 364 with master's degrees or above (89 with doctoral degrees). The university focuses on discipline construction and scientific research innovation, with 3 provincial key construction disciplines during the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, 1 provincial university brand professional construction project, 1 provincial basic course experimental teaching demonstration center, 2 key supported construction majors by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance, 3 provincial characteristic majors, and has obtained 10 patents and 253 software copyrights.
