吉林电子信息职业技术学院地处北国江城、中国魅力城市——吉林省吉林市，是国家教育部备案、吉林省省属公办全日制高职院校，是全国有色金属行业职业教育走出去首批试点院校，吉林省示范性高职院校、吉林省中华职业教育社改革创新实验校，全国第二批示范性职业教育集团（联盟）培育单位、第二批国家级职业教育教师教学创新团队立项建设单位，吉林省现代职业教育改革发展示范校立项建设单位、吉林省特色高水平高职院校和专业群立项建设单位。

Jilin Vocational College of Electronic Information is located in Jilin City, Jilin Province, known as the "Northern River City" and a "Charming City of China". It is a public full-time higher vocational college registered with the Ministry of Education and directly under the Jilin Provincial Department of Education. It is among the first pilot institutions for vocational education "going global" in China's non-ferrous metal industry, a model higher vocational college in Jilin Province, and a reform and innovation experimental school of the Jilin Provincial Association for Promoting Vocational Education. It is also a cultivation unit for the second batch of national demonstration vocational education groups (alliances), a project construction unit for the second batch of national vocational education teacher teaching innovation teams, a project construction unit for Jilin Province's modern vocational education reform and development model schools, and a project construction unit for Jilin Province's characteristic high-level higher vocational colleges and professional groups.

学校始建于1964年，时称吉林有色金属工业学校，1965年更名为中国黄金矿产公司吉林中等技术学校（简称黄金学校），1970年更名为吉林冶金工业学校，2002年独立升格为高等职业技术学院。现有两个校区，占地面积近59万平方米，总建筑面积近28万平方米；教职工452人，其中教授等正高级职称教师43人，副教授等副高级职称教师130人，在校生13000余人。设有11个教学单位，开设机电一体化技术、电气自动化技术、现代移动通信技术等45个招生专业，其中9个专业群被确定为吉林省特色高水平高职专业（群）建设项目，4个专业通过教育部现代学徒制专业试点验收。

Founded in 1964 as Jilin Nonferrous Metal Industry School, the college was renamed Jilin Secondary Technical School of China National Gold Mining Corporation (referred to as "Gold School") in 1965, Jilin Metallurgical Industry School in 1970, and independently upgraded to a higher vocational and technical college in 2002. It now has two campuses covering an area of nearly 590,000 square meters with a total construction area of nearly 280,000 square meters. The college has 452 faculty members, including 43 teachers with senior professional titles such as professors and 130 teachers with associate senior professional titles, and over 13,000 students. It has 11 teaching units and offers 45 enrollment majors such as Mechatronics Technology, Electrical Automation Technology, and Modern Mobile Communication Technology. Among them, 9 professional groups have been identified as Jilin Provincial Characteristic High-level Vocational Professional (Group) Construction Projects, and 4 majors have passed the Ministry of Education's modern apprenticeship program pilot acceptance.
