The University of Babylon was founded in 1991 and is a public university located in Hilla, Babylon Governorate, Iraq. It has 11 colleges and over 100 majors, with computer science, medicine, engineering and technology being particularly popular. The university is equipped with first-class teaching facilities and research institutions such as libraries and computer laboratories.

该校校园最初为巴比伦行政学院，后于1991年正式建为大学，由三座大院内的20所学院组成，位于希拉市以南7公里处。学校出版《巴比伦大学学报》和《巴比伦医学杂志》，并自20世纪90年代起开设夜校课程，在1997年高中考试难度增加后，夜校课程尤其受到富裕家庭学生的欢迎。

The campus, initially the Babylon Administrative College, was officially established as a university in 1991. Comprising 20 colleges within three large compounds, it is situated 7 kilometers south of Hilla. The university publishes the "Journal of Babylon University" and "Babylon Medical Journal", and has offered evening classes since the 1990s, which became particularly popular among students from wealthy families after the increase in high school exam difficulty in 1997.
