吉森大学（Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen，缩写JLU），全称吉森尤斯图斯-李比希大学，是一所位于德国黑森州吉森市的公立大学。学校由黑森-达姆施塔特伯爵路德维希五世于1607年建立，是德国最古老的大学之一。1945年以前，学校的正式名称为路德维希大学，以纪念其奠基人；1957年战后重建后，为纪念曾在此工作的著名化学家尤斯图斯·李比希而改为现名。吉森市位于黑森州中部，距法兰克福70公里，交通便利，大学生占总人口比例居德国首位，是典型的“大学城”。

Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen (JLU), officially known as Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen, is a public university located in Gießen, Hesse, Germany. Founded in 1607 by Landgrave Ludwig V of Hesse-Darmstadt, it is one of Germany's oldest universities. Prior to 1945, the university was officially named Ludwigsuniversität in honor of its founder; after post-war reconstruction in 1957, it was renamed to commemorate the renowned chemist Justus von Liebig, who worked here. Situated 70 km from Frankfurt in central Hesse, Gießen boasts excellent transport links and has the highest proportion of students in its population among German cities, making it a classic "university town."

As a comprehensive research university, JLU comprises 11 faculties covering law, economics, social sciences, medicine, natural sciences, agriculture, veterinary medicine, and more. It offers over 150 programs, most of which adopt modular teaching and bachelor/master degree systems. The university excels in medicine, veterinary medicine, nutrition, and agricultural sciences, with a library holding 2 million volumes and multiple interdisciplinary research centers. With approximately 24,000 enrolled students in recent years, it is the second-largest university in Hesse, renowned for its interdisciplinary research model and practice-oriented teaching system, which are distinctive in German higher education.
