内蒙古交通职业技术学院创建于1974年，是国家教育部正式备案的公办全日制交通运输类高等职业院校，自治区首所技师学院，也是自治区唯一独立设置的交通职业技术学院。学院坚持“德育为先、技能为重、育人为本”的办学理念，以铸牢中华民族共同体意识为办学治校主线，开展高等和中等职业教育、成人教育、技工教育，提供专业技术人才培训、职业技能等级鉴定及相关社会服务。

Inner Mongolia Vocational and Technical College of Communications, founded in 1974, is a public full-time higher vocational college of transportation officially registered with the Ministry of Education. It is the first technical college in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and the only independently established transportation vocational and technical college in the region. Adhering to the educational philosophy of "morality first, skills-oriented, and education for people", the college takes forging a strong sense of community among the Chinese nation as the main line of school management and education, carrying out higher and secondary vocational education, adult education, technical education, and providing professional and technical personnel training, vocational skill level identification and related social services.

学院主校区位于赤峰市新城区，校园占地656亩，建筑面积14.8万平方米，固定资产近5亿元。拥有汽车、公路、计算机等专业实习室和基础实验室40余个，其中公路实验室达到国家二级实验室标准，教学用计算机1000余台，专业图书34万余册。现有教职工518人，其中“双师型”教师169人，在校生1万余人，就业率连续保持在98%以上。

The college's main campus is located in the new urban area of Chifeng City, covering an area of 656 mu with a building area of 148,000 square meters and fixed assets of nearly 500 million yuan. It has more than 40 professional practice rooms and basic laboratories for automobiles, highways, computers, etc., among which the highway laboratory meets the national second-level laboratory standards. There are more than 1,000 teaching computers and over 340,000 professional books. Currently, there are 518 faculty members, including 169 "double-qualified" teachers, and more than 10,000 students, with an employment rate of over 98% for consecutive years.

学院围绕“大交通、新交通”理念，打造汽车检测与维修技术、道路桥梁工程技术、城市轨道交通运营管理等7大特色专业群共40个专业，其中教育部全国交通运输示范专业1个、自治区重点建设专业7个。作为国家技能型紧缺人才培养基地、全国交通类职业教育示范院校，学院深化产教融合，组建订单式项目班，与企业共建产业学院，推进“课岗证融通”，构建了中职与高职贯通、高职与本科衔接的人才培养“立交桥”。

Centering on the concept of "big transportation and new transportation", the college has built 7 characteristic professional groups including automobile inspection and maintenance technology, road and bridge engineering technology, urban rail transit operation management, with a total of 40 majors. Among them, there is 1 national transportation demonstration major of the Ministry of Education and 7 key construction majors of the autonomous region. As a national training base for skilled talents in short supply and a national demonstration college for transportation vocational education, the college deepens the integration of industry and education, establishes order-based project classes, co-builds industrial colleges with enterprises, promotes the integration of "courses, posts and certificates", and builds a talent training "overpass" connecting secondary vocational education with higher vocational education and higher vocational education with undergraduate education.

学院先后获评“全国职业教育先进单位”“国家技能人才培育工作突出贡献单位”“国家级高技能人才培训基地”等荣誉称号，是自治区“高水平高职学校和专业群建设院校”。面向全国13个省市招生，为交通运输行业和区域经济社会发展培养了大批高素质技术技能人才，成为服务内蒙古乃至全国交通事业发展的重要人才培养基地。

The college has been awarded honorary titles such as "National Advanced Unit in Vocational Education", "National Outstanding Contribution Unit in Skilled Talents Cultivation", and "National High-skilled Talents Training Base", and is a "high-level vocational school and professional group construction college" in the autonomous region. Enrolling students from 13 provinces and cities across the country, it has cultivated a large number of high-quality technical and skilled talents for the transportation industry and regional economic and social development, becoming an important talent training base serving the development of transportation in Inner Mongolia and even the whole country.
