鄂尔多斯职业学院始建于1959年，由原伊克昭盟师范学校、教育学院、电大三校合并组建而成，2007年4月经自治区人民政府批准正式改建为鄂尔多斯职业学院，成为鄂尔多斯市人民政府主办的全日制普通高等职业院校，2009年4月在教育部备案。学院坐落在环境优美、生态宜人的国家4A级旅游城市——暖城鄂尔多斯市康巴什区，总占地面积1015亩，规划建筑面积40.85万平方米，一期已建成14.05万平方米，二期规划建设26.8万平方米，正在建设10.57万平方米。是全国职工教育培训示范点、内蒙古自治区高技能人才培训基地、内蒙古自治区文明校园、内蒙古自治区平安校园。

Ordos Vocational College was founded in 1959, formed by the merger of the former Yikezhao League Normal School, Education College, and Radio and Television University. In April 2007, it was officially restructured into Ordos Vocational College with the approval of the People's Government of the Autonomous Region, becoming a full-time ordinary higher vocational college sponsored by the People's Government of Ordos City, and was filed with the Ministry of Education in April 2009. The college is located in Kangbashi District of Ordos City, a national 4A-level tourist city with beautiful environment and pleasant ecology. It covers a total area of 1015 mu, with a planned construction area of 408,500 square meters. The first phase has been completed with 140,500 square meters, and the second phase is planned to build 268,000 square meters, with 105,700 square meters under construction. It is a national demonstration site for staff education and training, an Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region high-skilled talent training base, an Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region civilized campus, and an Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region safe campus.

学院现设机电工程系、信息工程系、资源工程系、化学工程系、建筑工程系、人文管理系、汽车工程系、基础部、思想政治理论课教学科研部9个教学系部及鄂尔多斯开放大学。现有各级各类学生近10000人，其中全日制在校学生近7000人。近年来，学院坚持以习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想为指导，以铸牢中华民族共同体意识为主线，以服务区域经济社会高质量发展为目标，深入落实立德树人根本任务，全力打造高水平专业群，不断创新教学模式，持续深化产教融合、校企合作，全力推进职业教育特色化、品牌化发展，办学治校水平、人才培养质量显著提高，学院的知名度和影响力全面提升，为社会培养输送了一大批高素质技术技能人才。

The college currently has 9 teaching departments including the Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Department of Information Engineering, Department of Resource Engineering, Department of Chemical Engineering, Department of Architectural Engineering, Department of Humanities and Management, Department of Automotive Engineering, Basic Department, Teaching and Research Department of Ideological and Political Theory, and Ordos Open University. There are nearly 10,000 students at all levels and types, including nearly 7,000 full-time students. In recent years, guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the college has taken forging a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation as the main line and serving the high-quality development of the regional economy and society as the goal. It has thoroughly implemented the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, made every effort to build high-level professional groups, continuously innovated teaching models, and deepened the integration of industry and education as well as school-enterprise cooperation.
