上海济光职业技术学院是1993年由同济大学退休教师协会举办、经上海市人民政府批准成立、2001年纳入全国普通高等教育统一招生计划的全日制普通高等院校。学校源于同济、校长来自同济、师资主引同济、办学依托同济，教学管理秉承同济大学严谨求实的优良传统，逐步形成与同济大学建筑建工等相关专业本科人才错位发展的高技能人才培养模式。

Shanghai Jiguang Polytechnic College is a full-time ordinary higher education institution founded in 1993 by the Retired Teachers Association of Tongji University, approved by the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, and incorporated into the national unified enrollment plan for ordinary higher education in 2001. The college originated from Tongji University, with its president from Tongji, main teachers introduced from Tongji, and relies on Tongji for running the school. It inherits the rigorous and realistic fine tradition of Tongji University in teaching management, and has gradually formed a high-skilled talent training model that develops in a dislocation with the undergraduate talents of Tongji University's architecture and construction related majors.

学校实行董事会领导下的校长负责制，首任董事长为两院院士、同济大学原校长李国豪，现任董事长为同济大学原党委书记周家伦。学校坚持以就业为导向，注重校企合作、工学结合，以“求实求新、人人成才”为校训，先后荣获国家优质专科高等职业院校、上海市文明单位（文明校园）、AAAAA级社会组织等称号，现有宝山、杨浦两个校区，全日制在校生7900余人，重点建设土木建筑、财经、汽车、计算机、艺术设计、护理等专业，其中建筑设计、助产、工程造价为国家级骨干专业。

The college implements the president responsibility system under the leadership of the board of directors. The first chairman was Li Guohao, an academician of the two academies and former president of Tongji University, and the current chairman is Zhou Jialun, former party secretary of Tongji University. Adhering to employment-oriented education, focusing on school-enterprise cooperation and work-study integration, and taking "seeking truth and innovation, everyone becomes talented" as its school motto, the college has successively won titles such as National High-quality Vocational College, Shanghai Civilized Unit (Civilized Campus), and AAAAA-level social organization. It has two campuses in Baoshan and Yangpu, with more than 7,900 full-time students. It focuses on building majors such as civil engineering, finance and economics, automobile, computer, art design, and nursing, among which architectural design, midwifery, and engineering cost are national key majors.
