The University of Belgrade is the oldest and largest comprehensive institution of higher education in Serbia. Founded in 1808 as the Royal Academy of Serbia, it was officially renamed the University of Belgrade in 1905. Located in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, it is one of the most influential educational and research centers in the Balkans and enjoys a high reputation in higher education both in Europe and globally.
