The University of Johannesburg (UJ) was established on December 1, 2005, through the merger of the former Rand Afrikaans University, the Technikon Witwatersrand, and the East Rand Campus of Vista University. It is a comprehensive public university in South Africa, with its main campus located in the city of Johannesburg and a current student enrollment of approximately 49,910.

It offers multi-level education from short courses, diplomas, and undergraduate programs to master's and doctoral degrees, with majors covering various fields such as Architectural Technology, Chemical Design, Accounting, Economics, Civil Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering Science.
