安徽师范大学是安徽省建校最早的高等学府，前身是1928年创建于安庆市的省立安徽大学，1946年更名为国立安徽大学，1949年12月成建制迁至芜湖。学校是安徽省人民政府与教育部共建高校、国家“中西部高校基础能力建设工程”项目高校，也是安徽省重点建设的综合性大学。

Anhui Normal University is the earliest institution of higher education established in Anhui Province. Its predecessor was the Provincial Anhui University founded in Anqing City in 1928. It was renamed National Anhui University in 1946 and moved to Wuhu as a whole in December 1949. The university is a joint university co-constructed by the People's Government of Anhui Province and the Ministry of Education, a project university of the "Basic Capacity Building Project for Universities in Central and Western China", and a key comprehensive university in Anhui Province.

学校学科门类齐全，涵盖哲学、经济学、法学、教育学、文学、历史学、理学、工学、农学、管理学、艺术学等11个学科门类，形成了博士、硕士、学士三级完整的人才培养体系。现有全日制本科生、研究生及留学生3万余人，教职工2500余人，其中具有高级职称的教师900余人，拥有一批国家级、省级教学名师和学科带头人。

The university has a complete range of disciplines, covering 11 disciplines including philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, agriculture, management, and art, forming a complete three-level talent training system of doctorate, master, and bachelor. There are more than 30,000 full-time undergraduates, postgraduates and international students, and more than 2,500 faculty members, including more than 900 teachers with senior professional titles, and a group of national and provincial teaching masters and discipline leaders.
