安徽理工大学创建于1945年，与合肥工业大学同根同源，是安徽省第一所工科高校。学校历经淮南煤矿工业专科学校、合肥矿业学院、淮南煤炭学院等发展阶段，2002年更名为安徽理工大学。2024年设立合肥校区，现有淮南、合肥两个校区，占地面积近4000亩，形成以工科为主体，安全、先进制造、地矿、爆破、医学等学科为特色，工、理、医、管、文、经、法、艺协调发展的办学体系。

Anhui University of Science and Technology (USTC) was founded in 1945, sharing the same origin with Hefei University of Technology. It is the first engineering university in Anhui Province. The university has gone through stages of development such as Huainan Coal Mining Technical School, Hefei Mining Institute, and Huainan Coal College, and was renamed Anhui University of Science and Technology in 2002. In 2024, the Hefei Campus was established, and now there are two campuses in Huainan and Hefei, covering an area of nearly 4,000 mu. It has formed a school-running system with engineering as the main body, featuring safety, advanced manufacturing, geosciences and mining, blasting, medicine and other disciplines, and coordinated development of engineering, science, medicine, management, literature, economics, law and arts.

学校是国家中西部高校基础能力建设工程支持高校、教育部“卓越工程师教育培养计划”实施高校，拥有6个博士后科研流动站、7个一级学科博士点、23个一级学科硕士点。安全科学与工程学科在第五轮全国学科评估中获A类，实现安徽省属高校零突破。现有全日制本科生34500余人，博士、硕士研究生6900余人，教职工4900余人，其中中国工程院院士1人，国家级人才22人。

The university is a supported university of the National Midwest University Basic Capacity Construction Project and an implementation university of the Ministry of Education's "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program". It has 6 post-doctoral research stations, 7 first-level discipline doctoral programs, and 23 first-level discipline master programs. The discipline of Safety Science and Engineering was awarded Class A in the fifth round of national discipline evaluation, achieving a zero breakthrough among universities in Anhui Province. Currently, it has over 34,500 full-time undergraduates, more than 6,900 doctoral and master students, and over 4,900 faculty members, including 1 academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and 22 national-level talents.

学校坚守为党育人、为国育才使命，建校以来培养各类人才35万余名，5位校友当选中国工程院院士。拥有国家级一流专业建设点20个、国家级特色专业6个，获全国创新创业典型经验高校、全国毕业生就业典型经验高校等荣誉，学生在“挑战杯”等竞赛中获国际国内奖项2000余项，机器人协会、航模协会入选全国“小平科技创新团队”。

Adhering to the mission of cultivating talents for the Party and the country, the university has trained more than 350,000 talents of various types since its establishment, with 5 alumni elected as academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. It has 20 national first-class professional construction sites and 6 national characteristic majors, and has won honors such as National Typical Experience University for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and National Typical Experience University for Graduate Employment. Students have won more than 2,000 international and domestic awards in competitions such as the "Challenge Cup", and the Robot Association and Model Aircraft Association have been selected into the national "Xiaoping Science and Technology Innovation Team".
