山西传媒学院是山西省人民政府和国家广播电视总局共建高校,其前身是原广播电视部1983年建立的华北广播电视学校,在此基础上1990年成立广播电影电视部管理干部学院,2000年划转山西省人民政府,更名为广播电影电视管理干部学院,2013年经教育部批准,在广播电影电视管理干部学院基础上设立山西传媒学院,成为全国第三所公办传媒类本科院校。
Shanxi University of Media and Communication is a university co-built by the People's Government of Shanxi Province and the National Radio and Television Administration. Its predecessor was North China Radio and Television School established by the former Ministry of Radio and Television in 1983. On this basis, the College of Management Cadres of the Ministry of Radio, Film and Television was established in 1990. In 2000, it was transferred to the People's Government of Shanxi Province and renamed the College of Radio, Film and Television Management Cadres. In 2013, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Shanxi University of Media and Communication was established on the basis of the College of Radio, Film and Television Management Cadres, becoming the third public undergraduate university of media in China.
学校现有文华校区和东华校区两个校区,主要办学地点(校本部)文华校区位于山西高校新区(晋中市榆次区)文华街,东华校区位于太原市迎泽区五龙口街,总占地面积940余亩,校舍建筑面积28万平方米。面向全国31个省份招生,全日制在校生9400余人,是国家广播电视总局授予的国家动画教学研究基地,建有多个国家级、省级研究基地和平台。
The university currently has two campuses: Wenhua Campus and Donghua Campus. The main campus, Wenhua Campus, is located on Wenhua Street in the Shanxi University New District (Yuci District, Jinzhong City), and Donghua Campus is located on Wulongkou Street in Yingze District, Taiyuan City. The total area of the university is more than 940 mu, with a school building area of 280,000 square meters. It enrolls students from 31 provinces across the country, with more than 9,400 full-time students. It is a national animation teaching and research base awarded by the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, and has established a number of national and provincial research bases and platforms.
