鞍山师范学院坐落于拥有世界第一玉佛、亚洲著名温泉、国家名胜千山，享有“中华宝玉之乡”“祖国钢铁之都”“奥运冠军之城”美誉的优秀旅游城市、全国文明城市——辽宁省鞍山市。学校始建于1958年，1993年升格为本科，2004年通过教育部本科教学合格评估，2013年获批中国政府奖学金来华留学生接收院校，2019年接受教育部本科教学工作审核评估，2023年获批为硕士学位授予单位。

Anshan Normal University is located in Anshan City, Liaoning Province, an excellent tourist city and national civilized city renowned as "Hometown of Chinese Jade", "Capital of Steel in China", and "City of Olympic Champions". It is home to the world's largest jade Buddha, famous hot springs in Asia, and the national scenic spot Qianshan Mountain. Founded in 1958, the university was upgraded to a bachelor's degree-granting institution in 1993, passed the undergraduate teaching qualification assessment by the Ministry of Education in 2004, was approved as a recipient institution for international students under the Chinese Government Scholarship in 2013, underwent the undergraduate teaching audit assessment by the Ministry of Education in 2019, and was accredited as a master's degree-granting unit in 2023.

在60余年的办学历程中，学校秉承“博雅兼上、知行合一”的校训，坚持“育人为本、质量立校、服务社会”的办学理念，坚持“师范性、地方性、应用型”的办学定位，为国家基础教育、经济建设和社会发展培养了10余万名优秀毕业生。学校占地面积75余万平方米，设有1个学部、17个学院（系）、1个附属中学，拥有专业硕士学位授权点4个、全日制本科招生专业38个，各类在校学生23000余人，形成了研究生教育、本科生教育、职业教育、成人教育、留学生教育协调发展的办学格局。
