蚌埠学院是一所以工为主，多学科协调发展的省属普通本科高校。学校起源于1950年的蚌埠师范学校，创办高等教育始于1978年，2007年4月经教育部批准，由原蚌埠高等专科学校、蚌埠教育学院、蚌埠职工大学合并成立。学校于2019年获批安徽省新增硕士学位授予立项建设单位，现为安徽省硕士学位授予重点立项建设单位。

Bengbu University is a provincial public undergraduate university focusing on engineering with coordinated development of multiple disciplines. The university originated from Bengbu Normal School founded in 1950 and started higher education in 1978. Approved by the Ministry of Education in April 2007, it was established by merging the former Bengbu Junior College, Bengbu Institute of Education, and Bengbu Workers' University. In 2019, the university was approved as a project construction unit for granting master's degrees in Anhui Province, and now it is a key project construction unit for granting master's degrees in Anhui Province.

学校坐落于淮河流域和皖北地区中心城市——蚌埠，占地面积1128亩，东距蚌埠高铁南站3公里，西邻国家4A级景区龙子湖，南接芦山，北连蚌埠大学城，交通便利，依山傍水、环境宜人，学术氛围浓郁。学校设有14个二级学院（教学部），开设56个本科专业，涵盖工学、理学、管理学、经济学、文学、教育学、艺术学等七个学科门类，普通全日制在校生17129人。

Located in Bengbu, a central city in the Huaihe River Basin and northern Anhui, the university covers an area of 1128 mu. It is 3 kilometers east of Bengbu High-speed Railway South Station, adjacent to the national 4A-level scenic spot Longzi Lake in the west, Lushan Mountain in the south, and Bengbu University Town in the north. With convenient transportation, beautiful environment surrounded by mountains and water, and a strong academic atmosphere, the university has 14 secondary colleges (teaching departments), offering 56 undergraduate majors covering seven disciplines including engineering, science, management, economics, literature, education, and art, with 17,129 full-time undergraduates.

学校秉持“笃学·重行·修德·立才”校训精神，坚持地方性、应用型、数智化办学定位，以数智化转型为主线，以产教融合创新为突破口，以组织变革、课程重构、教学创新为核心路径，以多元化评价为保障，走出了一条扎根蚌埠、服务皖北、面向安徽、辐射长三角的地方应用型高水平大学建设之路。现有教职工951人，其中高级职称269人、硕博比80%以上，双师双能型教师占比60%。拥有国务院特殊津贴专家、全国优秀教师、安徽省先进工作者等50余人。

Upholding the school motto of "Diligent Study, Emphasis on Practice, Cultivation of Virtue, and Talents Cultivation", the university adheres to the local, application-oriented, and digital-intelligent school-running orientation. With digital-intelligent transformation as the main line, industry-education integration and innovation as the breakthrough, organizational reform, curriculum reconstruction, and teaching innovation as the core paths, and diversified evaluation as the guarantee, it has embarked on a path of building a high-level local application-oriented university rooted in Bengbu, serving northern Anhui, facing Anhui, and radiating the Yangtze River Delta. There are 951 faculty members, including 269 with senior professional titles, over 80% with master's or doctoral degrees, and 60% with double-qualified and double-capable teachers. It has more than 50 people including experts enjoying special government allowances from the State Council, national excellent teachers, and advanced workers in Anhui Province.

学校坚持以服务产业为导向，持续推进专业链、人才链、创新链和产业链的有机衔接与深度融合。现有本科专业中，以工为主的专业结构特色鲜明；招生专业中，直接服务安徽省十大新兴产业的占比达到80%，专业结构与安徽省及国家产业发展高度契合。无机非金属材料工程、电子信息工程、计算机科学与技术3个专业入选国家级一流本科专业建设点，4门本科课程入选国家级一流本科课程，建有省级一流本科专业12个、省级特色专业6个、省级综合改革试点专业12个。

Adhering to the industry service orientation, the university continuously promotes the organic connection and in-depth integration of professional chain, talent chain, innovation chain and industrial chain. Among the existing undergraduate majors, the professional structure focusing on engineering is distinctive; among the enrolled majors, 80% directly serve the ten emerging industries in Anhui Province, and the professional structure is highly in line with the industrial development of Anhui Province and the country. Three majors including Inorganic Nonmetallic Materials Engineering, Electronic Information Engineering, and Computer Science and Technology have been selected as national first-class undergraduate major construction sites, 4 undergraduate courses have been selected as national first-class undergraduate courses, and there are 12 provincial first-class undergraduate majors, 6 provincial characteristic majors, and 12 provincial comprehensive reform pilot majors.
