白城师范学院始建于1958年，前身为白城师范高等专科学校。2000年8月原隶属于国家林业局的白城林业学校并入，2002年3月升格为本科院校，更名为白城师范学院。学校占地面积63.71万平方米，建筑面积24.70万平方米，现有教职工942人，其中正、副高级职称教师323人，具有博士、硕士学位教师704人，全日制在校生13688人。

Baicheng Normal University was founded in 1958, formerly known as Baicheng Normal College. In August 2000, Baicheng Forestry School, originally affiliated to the State Forestry Administration, was merged into it. In March 2002, it was upgraded to an undergraduate college and renamed Baicheng Normal University. The university covers an area of 637,100 square meters with a building area of 247,000 square meters. It has 942 faculty members, including 323 teachers with senior professional titles, 704 teachers with doctoral or master's degrees, and 13,688 full-time students.

学校设有19个教学单位，51个本科专业，涵盖法学、教育学、文学、历史学、理学、工学、农学、管理学、艺术学9个学科门类。现建有院士专家工作站1个，国家级一流本科专业建设点1个，国家级特色专业2个，国家级大学生校外实践教育基地2个，国家级一流本科课程2门，国家级精品在线开放课程1门，省级特色高水平专业4个，省级一流本科专业建设点9个，省级特色专业6个，省级品牌专业2个，省级卓越工程师培养计划试点专业3个。

The university has 19 teaching units and 51 undergraduate majors, covering 9 disciplines including law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, agriculture, management, and art. It now has 1 academician expert workstation, 1 national first-class undergraduate major construction site, 2 national characteristic majors, 2 national off-campus practice education bases for college students, 2 national first-class undergraduate courses, 1 national high-quality online open course, 4 provincial characteristic high-level majors, 9 provincial first-class undergraduate major construction sites, 6 provincial characteristic majors, 2 provincial brand majors, and 3 provincial pilot majors of the Excellent Engineer Training Program.

学校与俄罗斯乌拉尔国立师范大学、韩国大邱加图立大学等国（境）外40余所高校开展友好合作，为中文联盟、中俄合作办学高校联盟等组织会员单位，与东北师范大学等多所高校联合培养硕士研究生。建校66年来，学校秉承服务基础教育、服务吉林西部的初心使命，为当地培养大批高级专门人才，获得全国五一劳动奖状、全国文明单位等荣誉。

The university has carried out friendly cooperation with more than 40 universities abroad (including Russia's Ural State Normal University and South Korea's Daegu Catholic University), and is a member of organizations such as the Chinese Alliance and the Sino-Russian Cooperative Education University Alliance. It jointly trains postgraduates with Northeast Normal University and other universities. Over the past 66 years since its establishment, the university has adhered to the mission of serving basic education and western Jilin, cultivated a large number of senior professionals for the local area, and has been awarded honors such as the National May 1st Labor Award and National Civilized Unit.
