保定学院具有120余年办学历史，前身是始建于1904年的保定初级师范学堂，2007年升格为本科院校。学校具有光荣革命传统，培养了师昌绪、王鹤寿等大批杰出人才，毕业生已成为保定基础教育等行业中坚力量。

Baoding University has a history of over 120 years, formerly known as Baoding Primary Normal School founded in 1904, and was upgraded to a undergraduate university in 2007. The university has a glorious revolutionary tradition, cultivating a large number of outstanding talents such as Shi Changxu and Wang Heshou, and its graduates have become the backbone of Baoding's basic education and other industries.

校园占地874亩，建筑面积40.42万平方米，各类实验实训室508个。现有本科专业55个，涵盖9大学科门类，其中国家级一流本科专业建设点1个，省级一流本科专业9个。全日制学生15863人，教职工1032人，正高级职称103人，副高级职称291人。

The campus covers an area of 874 mu with a building area of 404,200 square meters and 508 various laboratories and training rooms. Currently, there are 55 undergraduate majors covering 9 disciplines, including 1 national first-class undergraduate major construction site and 9 provincial first-class undergraduate majors. There are 15,863 full-time students and 1,032 faculty members, including 103 with senior professional titles and 291 with associate senior professional titles.

学校紧密对接京津冀协同发展和雄安新区建设，推进应用型大学建设，建有省级现代产业学院1个，校企共建实验室打造多元实训平台。拥有古籍1万余册，其中珍善本16种，3种入选河北省首批珍贵古籍名录。在艺术展演、志愿服务等领域成果丰硕，西部支教毕业生群体获习近平总书记回信赞誉。

Closely aligned with the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and the construction of Xiong'an New Area, the university promotes the construction of an application-oriented university, with 1 provincial modern industrial college and school-enterprise co-built laboratories to create a diversified training platform. It has more than 10,000 ancient books, including 16 rare and precious editions, 3 of which are included in the first batch of Hebei Province's precious ancient books list. It has achieved fruitful results in art exhibitions, voluntary services and other fields, and the group of graduates teaching in western China received praise in a reply from General Secretary Xi Jinping.
