北京航空航天大学（简称北航）成立于1952年，是新中国第一所航空航天高等学府，现隶属于工业和信息化部。学校以航空航天为特色，工、理、管、文、法、经、哲、教等多学科协调发展，是国家“双一流”“985工程”“211工程”重点建设高校，被誉为“中国航空航天人才的摇篮”。

Beihang University (BUAA), founded in 1952, is the first higher education institution specializing in aeronautics and astronautics in New China. Affiliated to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, BUAA features aeronautics and astronautics while developing coordinately in multiple disciplines including engineering, science, management, liberal arts, law, economics, philosophy, and education. It is a key university under the national "Double First-Class", "985 Project", and "211 Project" initiatives, known as "the cradle of China's aeronautical and astronautical talents".

学校拥有一支以两院院士、长江学者、杰出青年基金获得者等为代表的高水平师资队伍，在飞行器设计、航空发动机、人工智能、材料科学等领域形成了优势学科群。建校以来，北航培养了大批航空航天领域的领军人才和骨干力量，参与了“两弹一星”、载人航天、大飞机等国家重大工程，为我国国防科技事业和国民经济发展作出了重要贡献。

BUAA boasts a high-level faculty represented by academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Engineering, Changjiang Scholars, and winners of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. It has formed advantageous discipline clusters in fields such as aircraft design, aero-engines, artificial intelligence, and materials science. Since its establishment, BUAA has cultivated a large number of leading talents and backbone forces in the aerospace field, participated in major national projects like "Two Bombs and One Satellite", manned spaceflight, and large aircraft, making important contributions to China's national defense science and technology cause and national economic development.

当前，北航正以建设中国特色世界一流大学为目标，坚持立德树人根本任务，深化教育教学改革，加强科技创新，积极服务国家战略需求，努力打造成为扎根中国大地的世界顶尖高等学府。
