北京中医药大学是一所以中医药学为主干学科的全国重点大学，是唯一进入国家“211工程”建设的中医药院校，也是国家“双一流”建设高校。学校始建于1956年，前身为北京中医学院，1993年更名为北京中医药大学，2000年与北京针灸骨伤学院合并，形成了如今的办学格局。学校始终坚持以中医药学科为主体，注重中西医结合，培养了大批中医药人才，为中医药事业的传承与创新发展作出了重要贡献。

Beijing University of Chinese Medicine is a national key university with Chinese medicine as its main discipline. It is the only Chinese medicine college listed in the national "211 Project" and a "Double First-Class" construction university. Founded in 1956, the university was formerly known as Beijing College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It was renamed Beijing University of Chinese Medicine in 1993 and merged with Beijing College of Acupuncture, Moxibustion and Orthopedics in 2000, forming its current school-running pattern. The university has always adhered to the Chinese medicine discipline as the main body, focused on the integration of traditional Chinese and Western medicine, cultivated a large number of Chinese medicine talents, and made important contributions to the inheritance, innovation and development of the cause of Chinese medicine.

学校拥有丰富的教学资源和雄厚的师资力量，现有3个国家级重点学科，2个国家重点（培育）学科，6个学科入选国家“双一流”建设学科名单。学校设有14个学院，涵盖中医学、中药学、针灸推拿学、中西医临床医学等多个专业领域，形成了完整的中医药人才培养体系。此外，学校还拥有多家直属附属医院和教学医院，为学生提供了优质的临床实践平台，促进了理论与实践的紧密结合。
