Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT) is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education, co-constructed by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and one of the first universities to be included in the "211 Project". It is also a key construction university of the "985 Project Advantage Discipline Innovation Platform" and a national "Double First-Class" construction university. With information technology as its characteristic and engineering as its main discipline, BUPT features the mutual support and coordinated development of multiple disciplines including engineering, management, liberal arts, science, economics, law, and arts. 学校创建于1955年，原名北京邮电学院，是新中国第一所邮电高等学府。经过多年的建设与发展，学校已形成以本科教育为主体，研究生教育为重点，辅以成人高等教育、留学生教育等多层次、多类型的人才培养体系。学校师资力量雄厚，拥有一支以中国科学院院士、中国工程院院士为代表的高水平师资队伍，在通信与信息系统、信号与信息处理、电子科学与技术等学科领域具有较强的科研实力和创新能力。

Founded in 1955, originally named Beijing Institute of Posts and Telecommunications, it was the first higher education institution specializing in posts and telecommunications in New China. After years of construction and development, BUPT has formed a multi-level and multi-type talent training system with undergraduate education as the main body, postgraduate education as the focus, supplemented by adult higher education and international student education. The university boasts a strong faculty, including a high-level teaching team represented by academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering. It has strong scientific research strength and innovation capabilities in disciplines such as Communication and Information Systems, Signal and Information Processing, and Electronic Science and Technology.
