中国美术学院是中国第一所综合性的国立高等艺术学府，由著名教育家蔡元培先生于1928年创办，初名“国立艺术院”，1950年更名为中央美术学院华东分院，1958年定名为浙江美术学院，1993年正式更名为中国美术学院。学校以“行健、居敬、会通、履远”为校训，致力于培养具有人文精神、国际视野和创新能力的高素质艺术人才，在国内外艺术教育领域享有崇高声誉。

China Academy of Art is the first comprehensive national higher art institution in China. Founded in 1928 by the renowned educator Cai Yuanpei, it was initially named "National Academy of Art". In 1950, it was renamed East China Branch of Central Academy of Fine Arts, in 1958 as Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts, and officially took its current name in 1993. With the school motto of "Vigorous, Respectful, Comprehensive, and Forward-looking", the academy is committed to cultivating high-quality artistic talents with humanistic spirit, international vision, and innovative ability, enjoying a high reputation in the field of art education at home and abroad.

The academy has three campuses in Nanshan, Xiangshan, and Liangzhu of Hangzhou, forming a school-running pattern of "one academy, three campuses". Its disciplines and majors cover fine arts, design, art theory, drama and film studies, etc. Among them, fine arts and design are national "Double First-Class" construction disciplines. With a strong faculty, it has gathered many well-known artists and scholars at home and abroad, focusing on the integration of teaching, scientific research and creative practice, providing students with high-quality art education resources and a broad development platform.
