长春电子科技学院是一所以光电为特色的高水平现代产业大学。学校始建于2001年，原名长春光学精密机械学院光电信息学院，2002年更名为长春理工大学光电信息学院，2004年4月经教育部确认为独立学院，2020年经教育部批准转设成为独立设置的本科层次民办普通高等学校，并更名为长春电子科技学院。中国光学之父、“两弹一星”功勋奖章获得者王大珩，中国科学院院士姚建铨，中国工程院院士姜会林先后担任学校名誉院长。

Changchun College of Electronic Technology is a high-level modern industrial university featuring optoelectronics. Founded in 2001, the university was originally named the College of Optoelectronic Information of Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics. In 2002, it was renamed the College of Optoelectronic Information of Changchun University of Science and Technology. In April 2004, it was confirmed as an independent college by the Ministry of Education. In 2020, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, it was transformed into an independent private general higher education institution at the undergraduate level and renamed Changchun College of Electronic Technology. Wang Daheng, the father of Chinese optics and winner of the "Two Bombs and One Satellite" Meritorious Medal, Yao Jianquan, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Jiang Huilin, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, have successively served as honorary deans of the university.

学校以全日制本科教育为主，发展研究生教育、职业教育和继续教育，现有在校生12000余人。学校以工科为主，工、理、文、经、管、艺术相互渗透，协调发展。学校现设立8个教学单位，37个本科专业。在专业建设方面，以“四新”建设目标为驱动，紧扣国家和我省经济建设发展需求，优化学科布局，推进学科交叉融合，改造传统专业，面向新技术、新业态设置智能感知工程、数字经济、数据科学与大数据技术、机器人工程、新能源科学与工程、智能制造工程等新兴专业，构建了光学、智能制造、现代信息技术、电子信息、智能控制、数字经济、艺术设计、文化创意八大专业集群，特色鲜明、优势突出，形成了工、理、经、文、管、艺术多学科融合、协调发展的学科专业体系。

The university mainly focuses on full-time undergraduate education, and develops postgraduate education, vocational education and continuing education, with more than 12,000 current students. The university currently has 8 teaching units and 37 undergraduate majors.
