华中师范大学是教育部直属重点综合性师范大学，国家“双一流”建设高校，国家“211工程”“985工程优势学科创新平台”重点建设院校，坐落于湖北省武汉市。学校始于1903年创办的文华书院大学部，历经传承演变，1951年定名为华中师范学院，1985年更名为华中师范大学，2005年成为国家“211工程”重点建设大学，2017年入选国家“双一流”建设高校，2022年入选第二轮“双一流”建设高校。

Central China Normal University (CCNU) is a key comprehensive normal university directly under the Ministry of Education, a national "Double First-Class" construction university, and a key construction institution of the national "211 Project" and "985 Project Advantage Discipline Innovation Platform". It is located in Wuhan, Hubei Province. The university originated from the College Department of Boone Memorial School founded in 1903. After inheritance and evolution, it was named Central China Normal College in 1951, renamed Central China Normal University in 1985, became a key university of the national "211 Project" in 2005, was selected as a national "Double First-Class" construction university in 2017, and was selected into the second round of "Double First-Class" construction universities in 2022.

学校始终坚持社会主义办学方向，落实立德树人根本任务，形成了“忠诚博雅、朴实刚毅”的华师精神，以培养高素质人才、服务国家战略需求为己任。现有28个学院，79个本科专业，涵盖哲学、经济学、法学、教育学、文学、历史学、理学、工学、农学、医学、管理学、艺术学等12大学科门类。拥有国家重点学科8个，国家重点（培育）学科1个，湖北省一级重点学科22个。

The university has always adhered to the socialist orientation of running a school, implemented the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, and formed the CCNU spirit of "Loyalty, Elegance, Simplicity and Fortitude". It takes cultivating high-quality talents and serving the national strategic needs as its own responsibility. Currently, it has 28 colleges and 79 undergraduate majors, covering 12 disciplines including philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, management, and art. It has 8 national key disciplines, 1 national key (cultivation) discipline, and 22 first-class key disciplines in Hubei Province.
