常德学院是经教育部批准设立、湖南省人民政府和常德市人民政府共管，由国有企业常德市城市建设投资集团有限公司全资举办的全日制非营利性民办普通本科高校，前身为创建于2002年的湖南文理学院芙蓉学院，2025年2月正式转设为独立设置的本科院校。学校坐落于“国际湿地城市”“桃花源里的城市”——湖南省常德市，地处常德大学城，地理位置优越，交通便利，距桃花源机场约15分钟车程，通过高铁至长沙约1小时。

Changde College is a full-time non-profit private undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education, co-administered by the People's Government of Hunan Province and Changde Municipal People's Government, and fully funded by Changde Urban Construction Investment Group Co., Ltd., a state-owned enterprise. Its predecessor was Furong College of Hunan University of Arts and Science, founded in 2002, and it was officially transformed into an independent undergraduate institution in February 2025. Located in Changde City, Hunan Province, known as the "International Wetland City" and "City in the Land of Peach Blossoms", the university is situated in Changde University Town with superior geographical location and convenient transportation, about 15 minutes' drive from Taohuayuan Airport and about 1 hour by high-speed rail to Changsha.

学校坚持“地方性、应用型、特色化”办学定位，对接国家战略和区域先进装备制造、数字经济、生物制造等新兴产业集群，构建了以工学为重点，多学科交叉融合的学科专业体系，首批开设机械设计制造及其自动化、机器人工程、药学等20个本科专业，设有马克思主义学院、智能制造学院、智能建筑学院等8个二级学院。现有专任教师374人，其中副高及以上职称占比53.21%，具有硕士及以上学位教师占比77.27%，师资队伍结构合理、实力雄厚。

Adhering to the school-running orientation of "local, application-oriented and characteristic", the university aligns with national strategies and regional emerging industrial clusters such as advanced equipment manufacturing, digital economy, and biological manufacturing. It has built a discipline and professional system focusing on engineering with interdisciplinary integration, offering 20 undergraduate majors including Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation, Robotics Engineering, and Pharmacy. It has 8 secondary colleges such as the School of Marxism, School of Intelligent Manufacturing, and School of Intelligent Architecture. There are 374 full-time teachers, among whom 53.21% have associate senior titles or above, and 77.27% have master's degrees or above, forming a well-structured and strong faculty.

校园总规划面积1796亩，建筑面积56万平方米，设计办学规模20000人。目前一期工程已建成并投入使用，占地面积719.62亩，建筑面积30.9万平方米，教学科研仪器设备总值9408.02万元，馆藏图书137万册，5G无线网络全覆盖，生均教学资源居湖南省同类高校前列。学校注重产教融合与人才培养质量，实行“产业导师+学业导师”双导师制，与145家知名企业建立深度合作关系，将企业真实项目融入教学实践，致力于培养具有创新精神和实战能力的高素质应用型人才。

The total planned campus area is 1796 mu (about 1.197 square kilometers) with a building area of 560,000 square meters, designed to accommodate 20,000 students. At present, the first phase of the project has been completed and put into use, covering an area of 719.62 mu with a building area of 309,000 square meters. The total value of teaching and research instruments and equipment is 94.0802 million yuan, the library has 1.37 million books, and 5G wireless network covers the entire campus. The per-student teaching resources rank among the top in similar universities in Hunan Province. The university emphasizes industry-education integration and talent training quality, implements the "industrial tutor + academic tutor" dual-tutor system, has established in-depth cooperative relations with 145 well-known enterprises, integrates real enterprise projects into teaching practice, and is committed to cultivating high-quality application-oriented talents with innovative spirit and practical ability.
