成都中医药大学始建于1956年，是新中国最早建立的四所中医药高等院校之一，原名成都中医学院，1995年更名为成都中医药大学。学校是国家“双一流”建设高校、国家“973计划”项目首席科学家单位、国家中药现代化科技产业（四川）基地（中药材规范化种植研究中心）、国家中医药管理局重点研究室（中药资源系统研究与开发利用）建设单位，也是四川省人民政府与国家中医药管理局共建高校。

Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (CDUTCM) was founded in 1956. It is one of the four earliest institutions of higher learning of traditional Chinese medicine established in New China. Originally named Chengdu College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, it was renamed Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1995. The university is a "Double First-Class" construction university in China, a chief scientist unit of the national "973 Program" project, a national modernization technology industry (Sichuan) base (Research Center for Standardized Planting of Chinese Medicinal Materials), a key research laboratory (Systematic Research and Development Utilization of Chinese Medicinal Resources) construction unit of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and also a university jointly built by the People's Government of Sichuan Province and the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

学校以中医药学科为主体，医、理、工、管、文、农、教等多学科交叉渗透、协调发展，形成了以本科教育为主体，研究生教育为骨干，继续教育为补充的多层次、多类型办学格局。拥有国家级重点学科4个，国家中医药管理局重点学科29个，四川省重点学科17个；有一级学科博士学位授权点3个，二级学科博士学位授权点20个，一级学科硕士学位授权点8个，二级学科硕士学位授权点49个，博士后科研流动站3个。

With traditional Chinese medicine disciplines as the main body, the university has interdisciplinary infiltration and coordinated development of medicine, science, engineering, management, literature, agriculture, education and other disciplines, forming a multi-level and multi-type school-running pattern with undergraduate education as the main body, graduate education as the backbone, and continuing education as a supplement. It has 4 national key disciplines, 29 key disciplines of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and 17 key disciplines of Sichuan Province; there are 3 first-level discipline doctoral degree authorization points, 20 second-level discipline doctoral degree authorization points, 8 first-level discipline master's degree authorization points, 49 second-level discipline master's degree authorization points, and 3 post-doctoral research stations.
