朝阳科技大学由创办人杨天生博士于1994年创办，前身为朝阳技术学院，1997年改制为台湾第一所私立科技大学，校名“朝阳”寓意“朝向阳光，卓立昂扬”，校训为“勤学、敦品、力行”。学校位于台湾台中市雾峰区，以“做中学”为教育理念，致力于培养“毕业即就业”的优质专业人才，现有在学学生约16,000人，其中国际及境外学生约1200人，来自全球多个国家和地区。

Chaoyang University of Technology was founded by Dr. Yang Tien-Sheng in 1994, formerly known as Chaoyang Institute of Technology. It was restructured into Taiwan's first private university of science and technology in 1997. The name "Chaoyang" symbolizes "facing the sun and standing tall", with the school motto of "Diligence, Morality, and Practice". Located in Wufeng District, Taichung City, Taiwan, the university adheres to the educational philosophy of "learning by doing" and is committed to cultivating high-quality professionals who are "employment-ready upon graduation". Currently, there are approximately 16,000 students, including about 1,200 international and overseas students from various countries and regions around the world.

学校设有5个博士点、23个硕士班及24个系，涵盖理工、管理、设计、人文社会等多个领域，师资力量雄厚，助理教授级以上教师占比达88%，博士学位教师比例79%。办学绩效卓越，曾荣获台湾教育部门教学卓越计划奖助，连续多年位列台湾私立科技大学排名首位，在企业雇主评价中表现突出，是1111人力银行调查“企业最爱新鲜人校系排行”连续三年蝉联台湾民办科技大学第一名的高校。

The university has 5 doctoral programs, 23 master's programs, and 24 departments, covering science and engineering, management, design, humanities and social sciences, etc. It boasts a strong faculty, with 88% of teachers holding assistant professor titles or above and 79% having doctoral degrees. With outstanding educational performance, it has been awarded grants under Taiwan's Ministry of Education Teaching Excellence Program and has ranked first among private universities of science and technology in Taiwan for many years. It has also performed prominently in employer evaluations, topping the 1111 Job Bank's "Ranking of Enterprises' Favorite New Graduate Departments" among private universities of science and technology in Taiwan for three consecutive years.
