长安大学是教育部直属全国重点大学，国家“双一流”建设高校，国家“211工程”重点建设大学，国家“985工程优势学科创新平台”建设高校。学校创建于1951年，历经西安公路交通大学、西安工程学院、西北建筑工程学院三校合并，2000年4月经教育部批准更名为长安大学。学校以工为主，理工结合，人文社会科学与基础学科协调发展，是一所以培养公路交通、国土资源、城乡建设等专业人才为特色，在国内外具有重要影响的高等学府。

Chang'an University is a key national university directly under the Ministry of Education, a national "Double First-Class" construction university, a key university under the national "211 Project", and a university under the national "985 Project Advantage Discipline Innovation Platform" construction. Founded in 1951, the university was renamed Chang'an University in April 2000 with the approval of the Ministry of Education after the merger of Xi'an Highway University, Xi'an Engineering College and Northwest Institute of Architectural Engineering. With engineering as the main focus, integrating science and engineering, and coordinated development of humanities and social sciences and basic disciplines, the university is a well-known institution of higher learning at home and abroad, characterized by cultivating professionals in highway transportation, land and resources, urban and rural construction, etc.

学校现有校本部和渭水2个校区、太白山和梁山2个教学实习基地，校园面积3745亩。设有23个学院（系），开设84个本科专业，拥有8个一级学科博士学位授权点，38个一级学科硕士学位授权点，17个硕士专业学位授权类别，16个博士后科研流动站。学校现有教职工3600余人，其中中国科学院、中国工程院院士4人，教授、副教授1500余人，博士生导师350余人，硕士生导师1200余人。全日制本科生2.5万余人，博士、硕士研究生1.3万余人，外国留学生1000余人。

The university currently has 2 campuses (the main campus and Weishui Campus), and 2 teaching practice bases (Taibai Mountain and Liangshan), covering an area of 3745 mu. It has 23 colleges (departments), offering 84 undergraduate majors, 8 first-level discipline doctoral degree authorization points, 38 first-level discipline master's degree authorization points, 17 master's professional degree authorization categories, and 16 post-doctoral research mobile stations. The university currently has more than 3,600 faculty members, including 4 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering, more than 1,500 professors and associate professors, more than 350 doctoral supervisors, and more than 1,200 master supervisors. There are more than 25,000 full-time undergraduates, more than 13,000 doctoral and master students, and more than 1,000 international students.
