长江工程职业技术学院（简称“长江工院”）是湖北省人民政府直属的公办全日制高职院校，是全国水利职业教育示范院校、全国优质水利高职院校、湖北省“双高计划”建设单位，也是长江大保护职业教育集团、北斗及应用产教融合共同体牵头建设单位。学校前身是1959年成立的长江工程大学，首任校长是被毛主席称为“长江王”的林一山。历经多次调整与发展，2003年改制升格为现名，2004年划转湖北省管理，2021年形成文化大道、长江新城“一校两区”办学格局，总占地600余亩，现有在校生14000人左右、教职工500余人。

Changjiang Institute of Technology (referred to as "Changjiang Polytechnic") is a public full-time vocational college directly under the Hubei Provincial People's Government. It is a national demonstration college for water conservancy vocational education, a national high-quality water conservancy vocational college, a construction unit of Hubei Province's "Double High Plan", and also the leading construction unit of the Yangtze River Protection Vocational Education Group and the Beidou and Application Industry-Education Integration Community. The predecessor of the school was Changjiang Engineering University founded in 1959, with the first president being Lin Yishan, who was called "King of the Yangtze River" by Chairman Mao. After several adjustments and developments, it was restructured and upgraded to its current name in 2003, transferred to Hubei Province for management in 2004, and formed a "one school, two campuses" pattern in Cultural Avenue and Yangtze River New City in 2021, covering a total area of more than 600 mu, with about 14,000 students and more than 500 faculty members.

学校以水利为特色、工科为骨干，设有水利水电学院等8个教学院部，开设43个高职专业，立项建设省级高水平专业群2个（生态水利、智能制造）。坚持党建引领与“五特思政”育人模式，拥有3个全国党建双创样板支部，获评全国大中专学生“三下乡”社会实践优秀单位。教育教学改革成效显著，建有国家在线精品课程3门，获湖北省教学成果奖2项，是首批国家智慧教育平台湖北整省试点单位，牵头组建全国首个长江大保护职业教育集团，跻身2023年全国职业院校产教融合卓越榜单50强。

With water conservancy as its特色 and engineering as its backbone, the school has 8 teaching colleges and departments including the College of Water Conservancy and Hydropower, offering 43 higher vocational majors, and has established 2 provincial-level high-level professional groups (ecological water conservancy, intelligent manufacturing). Adhering to party building leadership and the "Five-Character Ideological and Political" education model, it has 3 national party building innovation and entrepreneurship model branches, and was awarded the excellent unit for the "Three Goes to the Countryside" social practice of national college and secondary school students. Remarkable achievements have been made in education and teaching reform, with 3 national online quality courses, 2 Hubei Provincial Teaching Achievement Awards, and it is one of the first pilot units of the national smart education platform in Hubei Province. It took the lead in establishing the first national vocational education group named after the Yangtze River Protection, and ranked among the top 50 in the 2023 National Vocational College Industry-Education Integration Excellence List.
