重庆三峡学院是重庆市人民政府举办、重庆市教育委员会主管的全日制普通高等学校。学校始建于1956年，坐落于重庆市万州区。1994年升格为本科院校，2013年被国务院学位委员会批准为硕士学位授予单位，2021年被重庆市学位委员会批准为博士学位授予单位立项建设高校。现为全国智慧校园建设试点单位、重庆市教育信息化示范单位、重庆市绿色学校建设示范学校、重庆市高校美育改革和发展实验校。

Chongqing Three Gorges University is a full-time ordinary institution of higher education sponsored by the Chongqing Municipal People's Government and administered by the Chongqing Municipal Education Commission. Founded in 1956, the university is located in Wanzhou District, Chongqing. It was upgraded to a bachelor's degree-granting institution in 1994, approved by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council as a master's degree-granting unit in 2013, and approved by the Chongqing Academic Degrees Committee as a university for doctoral degree-granting unit project construction in 2021. It is now a national pilot unit for smart campus construction, a demonstration unit for educational informatization in Chongqing, a demonstration school for green school construction in Chongqing, and an experimental school for the reform and development of aesthetic education in Chongqing's colleges and universities.

在长期的办学历程中，学校秉承“厚德、博学、自强、创新”校训，扎根三峡库区，坚持“立足三峡、服务重庆、面向全国”，艰苦办学、砥砺奋进，已为社会培养各类人才20余万名。学校学科门类齐全，特色鲜明，形成了以工学、文学、管理学为主要学科门类，理学、农学、经济学、教育学、法学、艺术学等学科门类协调发展的学科专业体系，以本科教育为主、研究生教育快速发展的办学格局。现有一级学科硕士学位授权点5个，专业学位硕士授权点10个，“十四五”市级重点学科7个，3个市级“人工智能+”学科群；本科专业64个，28个专业获批国家级、省部级特色专业（群）、一流专业；获批成立重庆绿色生态工程学院等7个省部级新型二级学院、现代产业学院。

During its long-term school-running process, the university has adhered to the school motto of "Virtue, Erudition, Self-improvement, and Innovation", rooted in the Three Gorges Reservoir area, adhered to the principle of "Based on the Three Gorges, Serving Chongqing, and Facing the Whole Country", run the school hard and forged ahead, and has cultivated more than 200,000 various talents for the society. The university has a complete range of disciplines with distinct characteristics, forming a disciplinary professional system with engineering, literature, and management as the main disciplines, and coordinated development of disciplines such as science, agriculture, economics, education, law, and art, with undergraduate education as the main body and postgraduate education developing rapidly. It currently has 5 first-level discipline master's degree authorization points, 10 professional degree master's authorization points, 7 municipal key disciplines in the "14th Five-Year Plan", and 3 municipal "Artificial Intelligence +" discipline groups; 64 undergraduate majors, 28 of which have been approved as national and provincial-level characteristic majors (groups) and first-class majors; 7 provincial-level new secondary colleges and modern industrial colleges such as Chongqing Institute of Green Ecological Engineering have been approved for establishment.

学校现有18个二级学院，全日制在校生2万余人，其中硕士研究生2300余人。近五年，学生在中国国际大学生创新大赛、“挑战杯”大学生课外学术科技作品竞赛、全国大学生电子设计竞赛等赛事中获得省部级以上奖励1700余项，其中中国国际大学生创新大赛金奖1项、银奖4项、铜奖3项，全国大学生电子设计竞赛一等奖1项；荣获中国大学生计算机博弈大赛13连冠，重庆市大学生武术比赛团体14连冠；两名学生荣获第24届世界脑力锦标赛“世界记忆大师”称号。

The university currently has 18 secondary colleges and more than 20,000 full-time students, including more than 2,300 postgraduate students. In the past five years, students have won more than 1,700 provincial and ministerial-level awards in competitions such as the China International College Students' Innovation Competition, the "Challenge Cup" National College Students' Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Works Competition, and the National College Students' Electronic Design Competition, including 1 gold award, 4 silver awards, and 3 bronze awards in the China International College Students' Innovation Competition, and 1 first prize in the National College Students' Electronic Design Competition; it has won 13 consecutive championships in the China College Students' Computer Game Competition and 14 consecutive championships in the Chongqing College Students' Wushu Competition; two students won the title of "World Memory Master" in the 24th World Memory Championships.

学校现有教职工1400余人，其中专任教师1200余人，专任教师中有高级专业技术职务的400余人，有博士学位的350余人。建有国家级专家服务基地，重庆市院士工作站、博士后科研工作站；现有国家哲学社会科学领军人才等国家级高层次人才3人、重庆英才创新创业领军人才等省部级人才33人，柔性引进国内外院士2人。学校紧密围绕国家和地方经济社会发展需要，不断提升科技创新能力，加快成果转化应用。现有省部级重点实验室5个，省部级行业试验基地、工程技术中心等科研平台26个，省部级创新团队（创新研究群体）5个。

The university currently has more than 1,400 faculty members, including more than 1,200 full-time teachers, more than 400 of whom have senior professional and technical positions, and more than 350 have doctoral degrees. It has a national expert service base, a Chongqing academician workstation, and a postdoctoral research workstation; currently, there are 3 national-level high-level talents such as national philosophy and social science leaders, 33 provincial-level talents such as Chongqing Talent Innovation and Entrepreneurship Leaders, and 2 academicians from home and abroad are flexibly introduced. The university closely focuses on the needs of national and local economic and social development, continuously improves its scientific and technological innovation capabilities, and accelerates the transformation and application of results. It currently has 5 provincial and ministerial key laboratories, 26 scientific research platforms such as provincial and ministerial industry test bases and engineering technology centers, and 5 provincial and ministerial innovation teams (innovation research groups).
