长沙电力职业技术学院是湖南省唯一的电力类公办全日制普通高校，隶属于国网湖南省电力有限公司。学院始建于1956年，前身为湖南省电力技工学校、长沙电力学校，2005年升格为高职院校，与国网湖南省电力有限公司技术技能培训中心实行“两块牌子、一套人马”的管理模式。学院坐落于长沙经济技术开发区，校园占地近400亩，建筑面积13万余平方米，固定资产3.78亿元，现有在校生3936人。

Changsha Electric Power Vocational and Technical College is the only public full-time ordinary college specializing in electric power in Hunan Province, affiliated to State Grid Hunan Electric Power Co., Ltd. Founded in 1956, formerly known as Hunan Electric Power Technical School and Changsha Electric Power School, it was upgraded to a higher vocational college in 2005. It implements a management model of "two brands, one team" with the Technical Skills Training Center of State Grid Hunan Electric Power Co., Ltd. Located in Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone, the college covers an area of nearly 400 mu, with a building area of over 130,000 square meters, fixed assets of 378 million yuan, and currently has 3,936 students.

学院以电力类专业为核心，开设供用电技术、电力系统自动化技术、发电厂及电力系统等7个专业，构建的能源动力和能源电力专业群均入选湖南省楚怡高水平专业群A档。现有教职工300余人，其中副高及以上职称129人，拥有1个国家级、4个省级职业教育教师创新团队，20余名教师获省级教学能力竞赛奖项，2个团队获全国职业院校教师教学能力竞赛一、二等奖。

With electric power majors as the core, the college offers 7 majors including Power Supply and Utilization Technology, Power System Automation Technology, and Power Plant and Power System. The constructed energy power professional group and energy electric power professional group have both been selected into the A档 of Hunan Chuyi High-level Professional Groups. There are more than 300 faculty members, including 129 with associate senior titles or above. It has 1 national-level and 4 provincial-level vocational education teacher innovation teams. More than 20 teachers have won provincial teaching ability competition awards, and 2 teams have won the first and second prizes in the National Vocational College Teachers' Teaching Ability Competition.

学院建有覆盖发电、输电、变电、配电、用电全环节的实训场地100余个，拥有国家电网公司输电带电作业基地等多个国家级实训基地，智慧教室及多媒体教室100余间。践行“校企双主体、岗课双面向、学做双场所、证课双认证”的人才培养模式，获“挑战杯”全国特等奖、全国职业院校技能大赛二等奖、世界职业院校技能大赛银奖等荣誉，累计为电力行业输送5万余名技术技能人才。

The college has built more than 100 training sites covering the entire links of power generation, transmission, substation, distribution, and electricity consumption, including multiple national-level training bases such as the Transmission Live Working Base of State Grid Corporation of China, and more than 100 smart classrooms and multimedia classrooms. Practicing the talent training model of "school-enterprise dual subjects, post-course dual orientation, learning-practice dual places, certificate-course dual certification", it has won honors such as the national special prize of "Challenge Cup", the second prize of the National Vocational College Skills Competition, and the silver medal of the World Vocational College Skills Competition. It has cumulatively transported more than 50,000 technical and skilled talents for the electric power industry.
