云南经济管理学院创办于1992年，是经教育部批准设立的全日制普通本科高校，为云南省首批应用型人才培养示范院校和就业创业典型经验高校。学校以“树职教典范、立百年名校”为愿景，现有全日制在校生23000余人，设有11个二级学院，42个本科专业，涵盖管理学、经济学、工学、教育学等8大学科门类，形成了以应用型人才培养为核心的办学特色。

Founded in 1992, Yunnan University of Economics and Management (YUEM) is a full-time ordinary undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education. It is among Yunnan's first batch of demonstration universities for applied talent cultivation and a model university for employment and entrepreneurship. With the vision of "Setting a model for vocational education and building a century-old prestigious university", YUEM has over 23,000 full-time students, 11 secondary colleges, and 42 undergraduate programs covering 8 disciplines including management, economics, engineering, and education, forming a school-running characteristic centered on applied talent cultivation.

The university deeply promotes industry-education integration, co-establishing industrial colleges with renowned enterprises like Huawei. It has 3 provincial first-class professional construction sites, 1 provincial key laboratory, and 323 off-campus internship and training bases. Over 80% of the faculty hold doctoral or master's degrees, with a prominent proportion of double-qualified teachers.
