福建华南女子职业学院前身可追溯至1908年的华南女子大学，1934年备案后改名私立华南女子文理学院，1951年与福建协和大学合并后停办。1984年11月复办，是新中国成立后第一所具有独立颁发学历文凭资格的民办女子高等学校，中国女子高等院校联盟成员之一，教育部非营利民办高校办学制度改革试点项目单位。

Fujian Hwa Nan Women's College can trace its roots back to Hwa Nan Women's University founded in 1908. It was renamed Private Hwa Nan Women's College of Arts and Sciences after being registered in 1934 and ceased operations in 1951 when it merged with Fukien Christian University. Re-established in November 1984, it is the first private women's institution of higher education in New China with the qualification to independently issue academic diplomas, a member of the Alliance of Chinese Women's Colleges, and a pilot unit of the Ministry of Education's reform of non-profit private university running system.

学校秉承“为养成女子最高人格而教育”的办学理念，遵循“自强、开拓、勤朴、奉献”校训，已为国家培养2万多名技能人才。设有烟台山、旗山和高新三个校区，总占地278.52亩，教学行政用房130612.9㎡，开设6个系29个招生专业，拥有全日制学生近8500人，专任教师426人，其中硕士及以上学位占43%，高级职务教师占20%。

Adhering to the educational philosophy of "Educating to Cultivate the Highest Personality of Women" and following the school motto of "Self-improvement, Pioneering, Diligence, and Dedication", the college has cultivated over 20,000 skilled talents for the country. It has three campuses: Yantai Mountain, Qishan, and High-tech, covering a total area of 278.52 mu with 130,612.9 square meters of teaching and administrative rooms. It offers 29 enrollment majors in 6 departments, with nearly 8,500 full-time students and 426 full-time teachers, among whom 43% have master's degrees or above and 20% have senior professional titles.
