长沙民政职业技术学院创办于1984年，是湖南省教育厅直属、湖南省民政厅共建的公办高等职业院校，全国首批（28所）国家示范性高等职业院校之一，国家优质专科高等职业院校，中国特色高水平高职学校和专业建设计划（“双高计划”）建设单位。学校立足民政、面向社会、服务区域经济发展，以培养高素质技术技能人才为目标，形成了以民政民生类专业为特色，以现代服务业为主体，多学科协调发展的专业布局。

Changsha Social Work College was founded in 1984. It is a public higher vocational college directly under the Hunan Provincial Department of Education and co-constructed by the Hunan Provincial Civil Affairs Department. It is one of the first batch (28) of national model higher vocational colleges, a national high-quality junior college, and a construction unit of the "Double High Plan" (China's characteristics and high-level vocational schools and professional construction plan). Based on civil affairs, facing the society and serving regional economic development, the college aims to cultivate high-quality technical and skilled talents, forming a professional layout with civil affairs and people's livelihood majors as characteristics, modern service industry as the main body, and multi-disciplinary coordinated development.

学校现有13个二级学院，开设50余个专科专业，涵盖民政管理、社会工作、康复治疗、老年服务与管理、现代殡葬技术与管理、电子商务、计算机应用技术、艺术设计等领域。其中，社会工作、老年服务与管理、现代殡葬技术与管理等专业为国家重点建设专业，在全国同类院校中具有领先优势。学校拥有一支结构合理、经验丰富的“双师型”教师队伍，注重实践教学，建有国家级职业教育实训基地、省级重点实验室等各类实训场所200余个，与300多家企事业单位建立了深度合作关系，为学生提供了良好的实践和就业平台。

The college currently has 13 secondary colleges, offering more than 50 junior college majors, covering civil affairs management, social work, rehabilitation therapy, elderly service and management, modern funeral service and management, e-commerce, computer application technology, art design and other fields. Among them, social work, elderly service and management, modern funeral service and management are national key construction majors, with leading advantages among similar colleges in China. The college has a team of "double-qualified" teachers with reasonable structure and rich experience, focusing on practical teaching. It has more than 200 training places such as national vocational education training bases and provincial key laboratories, and has established in-depth cooperative relations with more than 300 enterprises and institutions, providing students with a good practice and employment platform.
