首都体育学院是北京市属高校中唯一一所体育大学，创建于1956年，原名北京体育学校，1960年改建为北京体育师范学院，2000年更名为首都体育学院。学校座落于北京海淀大学园区，西临中关村科技园区，东临著名的蓟门烟树景区，地理位置十分优越。在以“挑战者精神拼搏创新”的校训激励下，各项事业取得了令人瞩目的成就，综合办学实力已跻身全国同类院校前列，2006年获得教育部本科教学工作水平评估优秀评价。

Capital University of Physical Education and Sports is the only sports university among the municipal colleges and universities in Beijing. Founded in 1956, it was originally named Beijing Sports School, reorganized into Beijing Sports Normal College in 1960, and renamed Capital University of Physical Education and Sports in 2000. Located in the Haidian University Park of Beijing, adjacent to the Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park in the west and the famous Jimen Yanshu Scenic Area in the east, the university enjoys a superior geographical location. Inspired by the school motto of "Striving for Innovation with the Challenger Spirit", it has achieved remarkable accomplishments in various undertakings, ranking among the top institutions of its kind in China in terms of comprehensive educational strength, and was awarded an excellent rating in the undergraduate teaching level evaluation by the Ministry of Education in 2006.

学校学科专业特色鲜明，拥有体育学和心理学两个一级学科，其中体育学为北京高校高精尖学科，在2023软科中国最好学科排名中位列全国第5。设有9个教学单位，开设15个本科专业，涵盖体育教育、运动训练、运动人体科学等领域，其中国家一流专业建设点9个，国家特色专业2个。学校师资力量雄厚，在编教职工557人，具有硕士、博士学位的367人，博士生导师37人，硕士生导师116人，还拥有一批国家级和市级高层次人才。

The university boasts distinctive disciplines and specialties, with two first-level disciplines: Physical Education and Psychology. Among them, Physical Education is a high-precision discipline of Beijing universities, ranking 5th in China in the 2023 Soft Science China's Best Disciplines Ranking. It has 9 teaching units and offers 15 undergraduate majors covering areas such as Physical Education, Sports Training, and Sports Human Science, including 9 national first-class professional construction sites and 2 national characteristic majors. The university has a strong faculty, with 557 in-service faculty and staff, 367 with master's or doctoral degrees, 37 doctoral supervisors, 116 master's supervisors, and a number of national and municipal high-level talents.

学校办学条件优越，建有图书馆、中心实验室、大学生体育馆、田径综合馆等大型体育设施，凤凰岭校区拥有上万平方米的室内体育馆和塑胶田径场。对外交流活跃，已与美国、英国、韩国等20多个国家的大学或研究机构签订合作办学协议，互派学生与访问学者。建校近70年来，为国家和北京市培养了10余万名高层次体育人才，正朝着建设国内一流、国际有一定影响的高等体育院校目标迈进。

The university has superior办学 conditions, with large-scale sports facilities such as a library, central laboratory, university gymnasium, and comprehensive track and field hall. The Fenghuangling Campus has over 10,000 square meters of indoor gymnasiums and塑胶 track and field fields. It has active international exchanges, having signed cooperative education agreements with universities or research institutions in more than 20 countries including the United States, the United Kingdom, and South Korea, exchanging students and visiting scholars. Over the past nearly 70 years since its establishment, it has cultivated more than 100,000 high-level sports talents for the country and Beijing, and is moving towards the goal of building a first-class domestic and internationally influential higher sports institution.
